And to think there are people on here who want Kear to be given the full cap to spend.

If we are in SL and have the full cap to spend we don't need people like Senior who was a very good player but is on the way down now due to age.

tbh i think senior would be a good signing if he improved his ball handling skills; this year he seemed to be knocking on a lot. don't we need a quality ?

He is 48 not 18, how can you expect to improve any part of his game this late in his career ?

I would be suprised to see him at Wakey, maybe its just us playing the publicty market.

Kear's interest in signing Senior shows why his coaching is so outdated. He obviously still thinks hes in 2006 when Senior was in his pomp.

They do have a bit of history don't they, and even the biggest Kear fan would have to admit that he has a bit of problem when it comes to letting go of the past...

Sounds to me like a mate doing another mate a favour. Create a bit of interest in Senior and Leeds might give him another year on good money.

I'm sure he'd do OK for us for 1 season, but I'd sooner we concentrated our efforts on the players we have, and put the money for Senior towards a top drawer signing.

Leeds wont offer him a new deal. He has to be on somewhere between £120k to £160k at a rough guess. Whats the purpose of keeping him on "just for one more season" when they know full well its time to invest in the future and give Watkins the centre shirt.

And thats not taking anything away from Senior who (and I hate to say this as I despise him) has been a wonderfull servent to both Leeds Rhinos and Rugby League as a whole.

But we simply shouldnt be him retirement home.

Apparently JK is interested in Senior, if he is not retained by the Whinos.
That would certainly bring our average age up by a couple or three years
