Not really. And theories like this make us Wakefield fans look like morons.
If Stobart want national advertising at a good price, having their logo on TV both on live games, highlights and news bulletins by sponsoring Super League makes sense, regardless of which league a club affiliated to it may be in.
I'm sure for such a title sponsorship, other parties would have been interested, without 'blackmailing' the RFL into accepting a club into a league.

The RFL said a championship club was coming up. Did anyone think it wouldn't be Widnes? In fact, did anyone really think Widnes weren't coming up, regardless of what had been said?
