Maybe a new coach in for Beans? What do you think? When staff are there 2 long they can get complacent i am in favour of a shake up but sill stick with Kear. Some fresh blood on coaching staff.'"
i think he will last the season relivent to results but that wouldnt be my choice,if we where to say win only 2 of the first 12 games(looking at our squad we will be lucky to do that)we would have won 5 out of 30 games which to me isnt good enough we cant keep him just cos he done well in the past--he is doing same as other clubs hes been at good at start crap towards end,we also cant keep him because there aint no one else cos there is.as for other members well i never see beans speaking to players when in the gym and has for colin s he is a waste of space we where probally the unfittest team in all of sl since he been here not to mention the injuries.

Agreed re Colin Sanctuary. I have often thought that as his background is in other sports, he is not devising the most appropriate programmes for RL players. The ability to last 80 minutes is still a major problem.
We need to find another Geoff Evans type conditioner. We used to steam roll teams in the last 20 when he was here and its no coincidence that we had one of our best seasons with him at the club (although we did have some quality players at the time as well)

Conversely Trinity also had their best season (in the League) under Sanctuary's tenure. I believe Evans was at Bradford during the 2010 season and they were only marginly less appalling than Wakefield.
I would imagine the poor performance of the players would have a knock on effect with respect to fitness. It stands to season if the team spent most of the match defending they are going to tire quicker than the opposition.

I think our best season was more to do with the players wanting to honour the memory of 2 former team mates who had passed in tragic circumstances, then anything Colin Sanctuary was doing.

Whilst I don't doubt that had a baring on the determination to do well, if your knackered your knackered, and whilst you won't give up the chase mentally, with nothing left in the tank physically you won't be able to acheive it.
In addition, the players probably spent less time defending in 2009.

Who else would take us? Who would you want? There's nobody comes close to Kear.
More importantly who can turn no hopers into SL playoff players? John "Yes I can" Kear.
Is this situation much different from 2007? Small, inexpensive squad of rejects and no hopers. And where did we finish?? 8th.
John will be here when we move, he's a director & for me what he's done for WT would entitle him to a place for life. However I honestly believe he will be the one to lead us out into NM, as Head Coach.'"
I think you have a reading problem i want kear to stay but after our abysmal end to the season get a 1st team coach in for beans because the end of last season it was shambolic so read the question properly and answer how long should we give it you clowns !!!!

| I have to laugh at the way some people view last season as abysmal etc.
Though it was hardly a classic anyone who has supported Trinity for more than 5 minutes will know what a real abysmal season is like and 2010 wasn't.
The 1980's with it's numerous relegations. The 1990's with 3 years lost in division 2. The early 2000's with relegation escape time and time again.
Last year was not great, but abysmal....nah

You talk about keeping Kear and then say shake up. How exactly is bringing a new coach for Beans a shake up???? When you are still keeping the main decision maker.
To put it in simple terms you are talking about getting rid of the apprentice because the teacher isn't good enough. The problem is clear, we have a coach with an ailing sense of loyalty, who tried to bail twice last season and was linked with a move to the capital before they announced McDermott's replacement. Don't forget not so long ago after Topliss passed away, the (lord and god (in some people's eyes)) Kear said something along the lines of wanting to beat his good friend David Topliss' record in charge at Wakefield and lead us into the new stadium. We have a fitness coach who is probably really good at getting consistent results in the other sports he has been involved with, but not he is not showing consistent results with us.
I think John Kear has done a great job for us, but like all things eventually they run their course and have to move on. Yes he lost three big players last year, but is still hardly justification for the poor run in the second half of the season. He over achieved at Sheffield, won a cup at Hull but then lost the dressing room. As for the international job, well to be honest he is supposed to be a big game coach and the games don't get any bigger than Internationals. With the best players to pick from he did nothing.
If a shake up is the answer, then it has to be a clean sweep. You can't leave the head person in situ and expect better results. As for the 'There is nobody else' that's just a poor argument, there always somebody else, other teams have managed to find replacements.

I remember the bad times aswell but at least we tried. It was abysmal you obviously werent at the games when we lost the ability to catch the ball, tackle players and just give up. What would you calll it then poor? Nah at 50/60 grand a year on average i think it was abysmal vasty.

for some reason jk will always be backed by many on here.even if we where to lose first ten league games by an average of 40 pts and get knocked out of challange cup by a lower league club we would still get the "in king kear we trust" type of comments.i hope it doesnt come to that as i want him to suceed and us to a fantastic run of results but with the squad he as assembled i cant see it(no proper SH,short of centres and prop too many FB and no full time goal kicker)
