| council are funding the land, and as they have said they wont fund two sites. Jd didn't say we should move to glasshoughton just that if we were pushed to we should take it.

The council are providing two plots of so the clubs could raise capital against them, that remains the case but they want to use both plots to fund one stadium, hence the 'review'.

made me cringe too
for the ten years he was been over in England I would of thought he would of learned about the passion of rival supporters,
I cas buddy of mine says he would rather have his eyes spooned out than follow wakey that is his passion for his club

| I'll probably regret saying this but if the RFL had a turnaround I'd prefer to play at Gl*sshoughton/Newmarket over Belle Vue owing to me detesting our ground so much.

I am sure JD thinks he has the clubs best interests at heart...
7 years is a long time to be at the club and he has proven his loyaly and fans favoutite status.
However I TOTALLY disagree with him...!!
I have [ionly [/ibeen following the club for about 42 years (from my frist visit to Belle Vue which - although I was very young - was sometime around the Watersplash final)... I have held season tickets for longer than JD has been playing the game... I have done bits and pieces of sponsorship, as my funds have allowed.
I find this political jerry-mongering an abhorration!
Wakefield Trinity belong in the City of Wakefield, it is an institution, a bedrock of the community... TBH I was dissappointed with the newmarket option... its too far out of the city centre... (had Trinity played there when I was a kid I probably wouldn't have become a fan!) but it was going to be ours... and that I could support... anything else is not an option in my mind!
No to taking Trinity away from the City...
No to merger...
and now I find myself in the camp of...
No to sharing a ground...
And a BIG FAT no to the manipulative Mr Box.... I hope your insidious plans blow up in your face!

| The common sense approach in me says Glasshoughton everything is in place like train station road links and next to a great big visitor attraction which in its self would attract more fans to the games,But ideally i would love to see our own ground at newmarket,it would have been nice if York Court owned the land down denby dale road and needed the planning permission, has i think all outsiders to both clubs just see it as 1 junction down on a motorway so should be no problem to share where as the other side of the city they'd have different ideas.

Yes they have known about the council wanting both clubs to share a ground, but that’s all the discussions were about, not specifically which site. After all the Newmarket option has always been a ground open for anyone to play at where as Glasshoughton has only been receptive to the idea after the realisation that there is not enough money to construct it.
The planning was put back on the request of the council on the premise that it had something to do with highways, which was news to Yorkcourt, who were expecting a decision last Friday.

| I too think Jason is wide of the mark on this one.
Like many on here and many more who aren’t, I've paid due's to Wakefield Trinity over the past 40 odd years that dwarf that of JD and so I find it a little patronising for him to preach loyalty, dedication and sacrifice.
I welcome much of what JD represents and his contribution to the club has been a positive one, he's gone above and beyond the duties his player contract would demand of him. I think, on this subject, he's singing in a different church let alone hymn sheet, if his views are representative or influenced by the of prevailing view at the club then they're in dire need of a wakeup call from the fans.

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| I suppose he's playing politics. JD knows that Peter Box's Sunday affiliation is going to determine the whole district's financial and sports planning, and so he knows that Glasshoughton will get the nod over Newmarket, just because of one man's self-interest. If that is the reality, then what is JD supposed to say: don't go, don't play there, don't go watch us there? He has to try and build support for an eventuality, because one of two things will happen if we go to Glasshoughton: we will either survive or we won't. Is building support so we can survive with that reality such a bad thing?

We can either be constuctive about it and try and look at the possibilities or as you say take our bats and balls home and get used to the idea of not supporting a SL side. For me, we will just have to make the best of the hand which we've been dealt.

How is years of mismanagement at Wakey (and Cas) the fault of cllr Box ???
If the people in charge of both clubs had done as they should have instead of waiting for some faiygodmother to come along and make everything ok we both would have been in new grounds years ago. Box will make his decision and it looks like it will be GH, logical because of the work already done , but i can empathise with your concerns.
What both clubs need is a cast iron guarantee that this is a temporary measure and the other (whichever) site will be completed later, other than that we should tell them and the RFL to feck off and stay where we are, and let battle recommence whichever league we find ourselves in.
After the intensity of yesterday, it should have shown the loonies at red hall that you just cannot invent rivalry like that, imagine Toulouse v quins. 1500 attendance and as quiet as the grave, even a blind man could see that for fact
