The world certainly doesn't revolve around CC's contract, but unfortunately the future of Wakefield Trinity DOES!!!

The hull kr away loss was start of the 2020 season, the 2019 first game loss was London away but after that we started to get some wins until we played that fateful game at home to Wigan when we started to pick up the really serious injuries upto that point we was 4th in table then it all went downhill.
As for the hull kr loss at start of 2020 I said then that we should give it a couple of games if results don't improve we should get rid and try and start a fresh and give the new coach plenty of time to try and turn things around

Are calling the fans bluff on here because it's getting to a stage there's a lot willing to throw the towel in all together, as for the depressing performances if these players are dropping standards to get Chris the shove then they should be ashamed of them selves and should be moved on.
This needs resolving quickly and keeping with the same old isn't going to work

| You cannot escape from the facts that the majority of our performances since Leeds away two seasons ago have been diabolical. We have twice in one season gone ahead by 12 points or more in the first fifteen minutes and still gone on to not only lose but fail to score another point. These are not made up the evidence is there for all to see.
I remember you kept asking me who would I get to replace Chester well I ask you who is this great player and why would he sign for us. We are not living in a fantasy unfortunately it is reality and if we retain Chester I do not see a way out. I suppose you too would accept us dropping down to the second level because based on raw evidence this is where we are heading.
He has been given more time than any other coach could possibly expect to turn things around and he has failed in fact in someways we have gone further down. I bet if we look at his excuses after every defeat you will not find one where he is critical of himself, we are now down to blaming the opposition fans for influencing the referee.
I don’t think you are right about fans being fickle, I actually believe the club is now in uncharted territory because they are alienating the hard core so how do you think the casual supporter will feel.

I don't know anyone who isn't going now..... But I'm sure some will stop.
I certainly haven't seen anything official about a new contract for Chester, just hearsay
As I've said over and over, I'm not blindly backing Chester. I can't see how he can continue personally, but too many people are throwing facts around that are just plainly not true.
It gets in the way of understanding what is going on.
I don't know Carter well but he doesn't strike me as someone too soft to sack someone. It's Scarlett that has generated that myth just because that's what he does.'"
Carter isn't too soft to sack people, he just doesn't want to pay out. Agar took the mick in the end but resigned, Webster resigned, Chester, perfect chance to let go without a payoff, reportedly we haven't taken it.

I've been hearing this for 30 years and it never happens. Sure a handful calls it a day but most come back and new fans appear. I started watching in 1988 and our fan base has grown slightly, not shrunk since then, check the figures. This is despite the club often being in far worse situations than we are now.
However.
In the past, we never had a pandemic to contend with. Even without the slump, people are getting out of the habit and I do think those clubs who have maintained their standards through the last two seasons will come out far stronger than we will.
It's a huge concern, especially when you consider how much goodwill the club and players received at the start of Covid, it does feel a bit like a slap in the face.

| I think Carter's had a soft time of it in general, most of the frustrations and anger have been taken out on Chester.
I'm not a fan of Mr Carter I dislike many of the statements he's made over the years and do not understand his reluctance to back Chester to the full. Its his club and for me he's running it in to the ground and doesn't give a toss about the fans.

Fans will come back for a winning side but the area of concern for me is the game in general it’s very poor quality and sinking in front of our eyes. Rugby people have totally lost interest in super league not just us every team and switching off in droves

| Sounds like Carter is a couple of grand lighter this morning, he’s got a fine for slagging off the disciplinary panel.

To be fair to Carter, the statement he made on the disciplinary panel was absolutely warranted IMO, I think his honesty and will to speak out about issues in the wider game is something I really like about him and with the traction it picked up in the media, it`s probably worth the £1000 fine. It`s a shame he doesn`t show the same backbone and will to speak out about the state of our current situation.

At least PT now agrees that Chester has reached his sell by date and it's time for him to move on,
Could the recent decline in performances be attached to long covid but as yet not be recognised?
