Got good news today that my lad managed to transfer over from Stanley Rangers to Normanton Knights u16s and will be available for the friendly this weekend.

The following week is the start of the winter season and he ends up returning back to his old club to face his old team mates, while we have left on amicable terms as he wasn't getting enough game time it wouldn't surprise my that he will get a welcome return

Just managed to read about your young un transfer .Sorry only just got P.M. seems a life time since I pushed you in that ddirection lol.

Lewis is a class player but needs more playing time every week now to develop and if he feels he aint getting that and is unhappy then its time to go.

Glad to hear its amicable terms because its grown ups mate that normally look for reasons that ain't there and before you know it your battling to get your cards and a vendetta is issued parallel to that of a fatwa.

Im sure Stanley will have warm welcome but I think you may be surprised by how it spurs on your young un.

East Leeds 14s were in a word outstanding today as they broke Crigglestone 2 year hold on the bala cup and also become the first team to win at Crigglestone since lock lane did in the under 11s

Crigg were just battered early and East Leeds scored 4 times IIRC before that well known full back had the foresight to go himself from dummy and run about 60nyards to score Crigglestones first half try.
2nd half started again in the same way and although Crigglestone was unfortunate imh with the 50/50 calls at times that dont excuse 90 yard tries from ptb

However im not to sure of the final score but to say in the ladt 10 minutes crigglestone remembered the art of tackling and for about 5/10 minutes started to look at least as good as east leeds this ended with another try for the 'neck step icon_smile.gif' .

I know due to little spongy just being wide from near touch with the kick 1/2 we crigg scored 10 and east leeds 50.

I dont normally do this but we had 2 very important players missing today . 1 away and 1 out till next year and both bleed crigg all blacks. Two other players training and maybe another signature and we will be a new side next year. This year as been East Leeds and I expect them to go on and win the cup.

as for crigg we have a memorable war of the roses and Wakefield cup although maybe Stanley should of been in the final with all due respect to eastmoor.

good look to all wrst Yorkshire sides left in cup

Thanks for the kind words chris, the lad was very nervous today and came on from the bench in the first half and got stuck in straight away which was very pleasing to see, today was a friendly over at Myton in Hull who put up a spirited performance in difficult windy conditions and with also having had a heavy drenching the previous night.
It wasn't always one way traffic but the Normanton Knights put up a solid defence to keep Myton score less and managed to rack up 32 for their hard work.
On a personal note it was great to see that smile back on the lads face at the end of the game having crossed over twice, it didn't stop there as he was given mom too but that could of also of been given to many.
Next week will be the acid test so if he gives as much as he did today I'll be pleased.

Panthers 14s progressed after beating Milford 20-40 the game was over by half time with the panthers cutting loose with some good tries.milford stuck at it and grabbed themselves a couple of consolation tries to give the scoreline a bit of respect.

Unfortunatly some Milford parents and players wanted pay back in the form of attacking a few of our players and parents long after the players and been showered and fed,it really is disgusting that these people are involved in the game.

Nice to see you at the game today Seth!!

I Have to say I agree with this sentiment, over the last 16 years I've been involved with Junior rugby league I have visited Milford on several occasions and never truly felt welcome, also the only game any of my kids have been involved in where the coach pulled them off the pitch to abandon the game due to child protection issues.
Saying all that, not all the parents/players are like that so it's unfair to tar them with the same brush icon_thumb.gif

Congrats to all the teams that played today, the conditions were far from perfect and I was glad I wasn't playing, so much for summer rugby icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry to hear that happened at the end Rob, I hope it's reported. Though it will be a tough task for us next week I'm glad the team that were prepared to play rugby came out on top. I'm sure you'll get a warmer welcome at ours next week, though hopefully not too warm icon_wink.gif

^^

Stanningley came t Hull Wyke in the U13 QF yesterday.

Very good display of rugby from them, we couldnt handle the pivots and the pace.

Our lads heads dropped after a couple of bad decisions from the ref but i wont let this detract from the fact we were outclassed by a well drilled , focused team who have every chance of winning the comp. IMHO they will be cracking semis with the 4 teams who have made it

Stanningley, West Hull (beat East Leeds) and East Hull (beat West Bowling)

Not sure on 4th team as i dunno if the Lock Lane/Kippax affair has been sorted yet and the winners going onto play Dewsbury Moor ?

Cheers Hutchie. Re the Stanningley lads they found the going a little tough at the beginning of the season but have trained hard worked extremely hard on their tackling technique and with confidence high are looking good.
