| A lot of good performances today.
Big Dave came on at 12-12 and went off at 38-12. That speaks volumes.
Thought England was immense today too. He'd have got MoM for me but in a big scoring game the runners are bound to get the awards and rightly so.
I do like our two hookers as well. This is their kind of weather and they will start showing their skills now I'm sure.
Ironically I said I thought TJ was having a bad game. He let a try in and dropped a bomb that gave them good field position where they bombed a try rather than us stop them.
Then he goes and scores 3 great tries.
Hull KR had a few missing today but they still put us under pressure in the first half. McGuire needed some help and it isn't Tommy. If Lunt had been playing I think they'd have been stronger. We'd have still won I think but at 12-12 they had 3 possible tries that were either bombed or only just stopped. Could have gone another way another day.

| What’s for tea Mrs EW.
On a serious note, think they played really well today with ball in hand, but just a little soft in defence in the first half.
I think that was the most fluent we have been all season with ball in hand.
Agree on Miller, that today was his best of the season

Now we know who Eddie Hemings means when he says a legend of the game has picked the 4 MOM candidates

TJ scores his first try before he dropped the ball. He was no more guilt than anyone else of letting HKR score that was a team effort as the were all dreadfull on that occasion especially England.
Fifita changed the game in what was a monster spell they simply couldn’t handle him and it visibly lifted the team which is exactly what we pay him for and why we have supported him recently - he payed us back big style.

Don't kid yourself, Hudds are rapidly improving and a new coach will give them a lift. I am expecting 2 really hard games.

BJB i really like, just not sure he's the tenacity to be a top top winger. On form carney is destructive, and a great finsher. BJB is only the latter, not sure what hes like defensively as I aint seen enough of that side of him, although carney is a bit suspect at that.
Maguire doesn;t ref for us, probably cos hes not playing for the big boys now so every decision goes against not for you. As seen on sunday previous'" ]
Finn was excellent today, his combination with is the main reason we scored so many points...

| Once again I saw a bit of sparkle added to the team when Kyle Wood came on. Just think of the damage Dave Fifita could cause if he ran on to the ball from deep. Great game from both of them.

I'm not bagging Tom. I thought I made that clear by showing how the game can change your opinion of someone.
However, as you have brought it up.....
Tom's first try was just backing up someone else's break. Great try and if he wasn't there it wouldn't have been scored, but not all him.....but Hull KR's try came from him shouting out of the line, missing the interception, but then also missing the tackle and not tracking back either. The guy ran right at the gap he'd left behind.
He of course made up for it and he showed how good a player he is for those tries, but that performance is the difference between a really good player who will score loads of trys and be talked about on Sky.............and an England winger.
If he wants to play for England, which I think he is capable of, he needs to tighten up on that last 5% of his game.
Saying that, Hull KR kept opening us up on the other wing and I'm not sure why. It wasn't the winger as the overlap was created by the time it got to BJB. Lyne did some good cover tackling but I think it was more to do with their execution of the try that let them down. They'd done the hard bit to break us.
But again..........that is the difference between top 8 or 4 and bottom 4. Hull KR showed signs, but TJ playing for them on their left wing and they'd have got all three of those trys imho.

Not sure beating an equally dire Widnes side equates to rapily improving but new coach syndrome may mean there is an uplift. But the fella coming is has zero first grade coaching experience and his most recent record involves taking a promising Newcastle Knights reserve grade to bottom of the table. Wayne Bennett he ain’t. It won’t be as easy as today but we’ll win with something to spare in both games.

| .Ok Finn is ok if Miller plays like he did to day plus the three quaters line went well .But Gix was average ,missed two one on one tackles that H K scored from. Did not run the ball back once. Ok he scored two trys ,one was from a obstruction ,he was just finishing the move off for the other. Why do other teams look faster than us when moving the ball

| Grix doesn't run the ball back because he organises the play. Running the ball back is the wingers job in Chester's setup. Nothing to do with Grix.
I thought his tries were great and done at speed too. Like it or not, we play better with him in the team. I thought he had a good game....even with the one on one misses.
Our defence has improved massively over the last to years and a lot of people point at Mr Kear for that......and they are right.
But I would also say our defence improved the day Grix walked on to the field. He organises that part of the team play and he is excellent at it.

So what is your fix ?, don't play Grix at all, and don't play Finn if Miller is having an off day ?
I appreciate your shoving xxxx up hill with your nose after winning using all the players you don't want, but I'm just interested in what your alternatives are with the current squad.

Not one for bagging players, but the high ball TJ put down, was the full backs ball every day of the week, you could see the indecision between them, which should not have been there,
full back takes controll.
I know we will never know, but it would be interesting to see were Rookie of the year Max Jowitt would now, with 2 year of games behind him.
On another side note I thought Tyler Randell was immense today.
