Yep - I think the development was against local wishes - and we know that not to be the case (generally) with ours.

I think most Everton fans didn't want it as it would mean them moving out of Liverpool.

Being an Evertonian I voted for the move as the development of Goodison is nigh on impossible.
The move was only a couple of miles down the road over the border in Kirby.
It as been knocked back because of the impact on retail shopping in the City Centre not on local objections.
I would also vote for a stadium share with the reds in Stanley Park if push comes to shove and it means being able to compete.

Mainly due to the gigantic Tesco and shopping complex attached that would have decimated local business

We could do with a TESCO on the newmarket development North Wakefield could do with a supermarket we've nothing apart from the Coop
