| Quote: Travelling Wilbury "The possible rumour there could turn out in our favour, who knows.
Not sure who'd play 6, personally, I'd prefer Rocky there, but Gaskell can play there too.
Hasn't Hardaker been spending time in the centre in recent seasons. I think since Tupou's injury problems, he's been the shadow of his former self. Also, with the possibility of Arundel going, it does give us options.
Also, it would free up a quota spot, which could be used to strengthen elsewhere.
Hopefully some positive news on the stadium, with confirmation of the new coach, and maybe some new incoming players
For me, cautious optimism'"
If I were into conspiracy theories then if Wigan have been after Miller for a while then the signing of Gaskell.
I’m not into these theories but for those who are then there you go.

| If Gaskell is that good ,why did Wigan not go after him ,Hoping it is not true but if it is, it's a backwood step for Wakefield .OK we got a quota spot .but we would have to find a 6.

| Just think it through.
If Wigan are shopping for a stand off at the club who scraped 10th place and letting an international centre/fullback go in return, they are in more trouble than I thought.

Perhaps we might find a 6 without the 80+ missed tackles and 30 errors in a 20 game season !

| What I find frustrating is that most of the cash for next year as been spent by a Coach that is not here

Genuinely who are Wigan going to get? Unless they wait for someone to drop out of the NRL ie ash Taylor, but then he was on about £5/600K at the Titans. Who is there over here of any real quality at 6 Who’s available? Just because we finished 10th doesn’t mean Miller wouldn’t go well at Wigan amongst better players. I think it’s not just a worry for Wigan but SL in general , as the lack of quality coming through teams as well as quality coming over from the NRL is decreasing.

What's that got to do with it? If Miller were going as my conspiracy theory goes then we had to replace him with someone, hence Gaskell. Doesn't matter who we think is best, we needed a replacement, and Gaskell seems reasonable to me. I prefer Miller but IF he doesn't prefer us then we move on.
We wouldn't have to find another no6 that's the point we already have one, it's not difficult.

Does no harm so long as nobody takes it as gospel.

We all know Miller has his flaws, although a lot of his missed tackles are due to the fact that he attempts so many. He's been a great player for us but those stats are a perfect example of why he isn't IMHO a suitable signing for Wigan. I may be wrong but if he did go there I feel he'd struggle in front of an unforgiving crowd.

| The obvious question is if he is that bad why would Wigan want to sign him. I guess they have a better impression of his rugby skills than some forum members.

He's a great player imo, however IMO your argument is flawed. Seriously, are you suggesting every signing Wigan makes is a success? Well, it isn't. In the case of Miller, I'm not sure he has the mental strength for a big club.
I'll now turn it back on you, if Miller was that good why didn't Wigan sign him from Hull or the previous times his contract was up for us? Works both ways.
Anyway, I don't think he's going anywhere but what do I know.

| Im probably wrong but I think Wigan had a first refusal on Williams when he left Canberra, so they would of been very confident of getting him back, but he obviously chose Wire, and ow Wigan will probably be thinking ‘who can we realistically get now’. Wigan signed Sammut a few years ago, could he lace Millers laces? I don’t think so personally. Interesting times ahead.

| Wigan have an history of signings players from other clubs once they have proven their ability even if this is not immediate. We just need to look at N Wight, H Paul and Hastings the latter two Wigan could have signed before us and Salford, however they did not want to take the risk until they prove themselves.
