Hi Wakefieldtillidie-not sure who would be my player of the season, but Tanginoa made a very big impression on me for the latter part, and, like many other people have said, full praise to CC and MC for getting him here.

Eh? how did Arona hold the team together through all the injuries, when he was one of the main ones to be affected and didn't play a single game after 3rd May.

On Lyne, we'll no doubt get to see everyone in preseason and see where they are - not that I thought he stuck out at all in the 2nd half as being poor or tired.

He might mean up till the point where arona was injured?
Must say I though prior to his injury Arona was exceptional

On Lyne I thought he did really well for us and at a time where the team was full of injuries he carried us

Just my opinion

The whole team struggled for form last year because there was so many forced changes, players missing due to injury and players playing with injuries

Tom, bill, Huby, Ashurst, Arona, Dave, England, Jacob, Brough
You can’t have that many injured senior players and it not have a negative effect on your teams performance

I think we will be a different team next year and am really looking forward to seeing us play

I've said a few times the loss of Arona was what finally broke us in my opinion. We were coping OK even with the injuries we had up till that point then we lost Arona and it was downhill from there on.

He was that poor and tired that he managed to gain an international call up and is better than both of the GB "centres" that are down under at the moment. icon_biggrin.gif

Hi Shifty Cat...perhaps my post that you refer to wasn't well put, but it was based on my recollections and not stats.Having now looked it up I see an article from the WE after the win against Giants where Tinirau was injured, which say's that Trinity were without 10 players that day.It quotes CC as saying he had never experienced an injury crisis like it.So I stick by my post.Re reece, everybody has their own opinions.

My point was that it was only really over 3 or 4 games previous to that we'd lost the likes of Tupou, England, Brough, Miller, Arundal etc, so although Arona was obviously a massive loss and proved an injury too far for Trinity ateotd, he himself got injured near the start of the injury crisis playing 14 games.

I agree, he was outstanding. I reckon some of the bigger clubs will be kicking themselves for missing out.

On the POTY, it's a weird one, we played well for about half the season then generally stank the place out in the other half. Obviously Fifita was out in front as the best player and he was still high up in man of steel into around round 20. The first half of the season his performances were awesome and some of the best I've see at Trinity. Obviously then he got injured but still turned out but his injury took a toll until he had to get the surgery done.
On Tanginoa, I've really liked the dude from the first game he played against catalans, you could see he was going to offer that bit of x-factor we lacked in the 2nd row, that tackle busting back-rower we'd been searching for. Although he wasn't involved in many wins, it wasn't his fault , i don't remember him not being a big presence on the field and always looked the most dangerous player.
On the whole Fifita was my POTY; Tanginoa though to say he arrived mid season to a losing team he was great, he has to be right up there with Fifita and Hampshire, plus probably Woody as well tbf imo.
