Quote PopTart="PopTart"The problem is for me, that the players are putting effort in, they are just not co-ordinated.
The forwards are running hard and tackling hard but then leave a gap when they are put under pressure. It isn't just effort.'"
You talk a lot of sense Poptart but this is one thing I disagree with. There seems to be effort in short bursts but there is no sustained intensity.
Our line speed in general is so slow (examples see the Leigh try from the chip, or the break made by their No 20 right at the start of the second half) and the defence on our own line is so paper-thin its a joke and it has been like this for a number of weeks.
This could be down to either:
poor conditioning
poor attitude
lack of leadership
Poor options in attack leaving us doing too much defending
Whichever combination of these it is a really poor sign. I have seen us get beat before but have really tried, this last 10+ weeks has been different - we have been pretty dumb in our play but also far too easy to walk all over. Once a half decent team is in our 20 it seems a foregone conclusion they will eventually score unless they make a fundamental mistake. I think there is a lack if hunger from the players and the first sign of this shows in defensive attitude.
Something has looked wrong from the inside to me.
