39793_1491679334.jpg "Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall"
"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |

| Quote: The Clan "Peter Box insisted that Savilles deal with the planning element of both clubs within the one meeting, which had been intended for Wakefield Trinity on their own. The planning department of WMDC headed by Andrew Thompson, who have been involved from day one with both clubs, were bound and gagged by Box who proceeded to steer the meeting himself.
The full truth of Castlefords position was not conveyed to Savilles and Box achieved his goal of portraying both clubs as being neck & neck in terms of stadium schedules.'"
If he did portray both clubs as being neck and neck in planning, then he did WTWC a massive favour as clearly (Forget funding) CT are miles in front having got Full PP and WTWC have nothing and may end up with nothing.

Quote: bigalf "Surely Savilles as professional property consultants will make their own judgements based on the facts rather than what a Councillor whose knowledge of planning matters is limited (if it exists at all) has to say'"
You would hope so.
The pertinent facts that were avoided are in blue NEWMARKET
Wakefield are 'likely' to receive a positive outcome from the Public Inquiry
Full funding is confirmed and secured
Full planning could be applied for by mid May 2012
FPP could be granted by late June to early July
Construction could commence by late Sept 2012 with a 46 week build schedule
GLASSHOUGHTON
FPP is already granted
Funding is tied up with the sale of Wheldon Rd
Within the new LDF, WR is now zoned for housing
A planning application for a supermarket on WR will not fit with the LDF and will almost certainly be called in for a Public Inquiry.
Strong objections are expected from ASDA, Morrisons and Town Centre outlets
The process is likely to take as long as 3 years with a strong likelihood of planning being refused
These are the INFORMED views of those within the WMDC planning Dept

Do you really think he will lose that many votes from the Agbrigg, belle vue, Lupset, Plumpton and Eastmoor areas of Wakefield, I wouldnt have thought too many people in those areas bothered to vote

| Before I'm CAStigated by Tiger fans,
I'm not going to get involved in petty name calling, time will prove me correct on everything written here.
End of as far as I'm concerned.

The fact that Agbrigg,Belle Vue and Lupset are all represented by tories suggests how much peter box is hated by the people of wakefield

Incorrect. See a post BigAlf put on VT for details.
Quote: Sesquipedalian "A planning application for a supermarket on WR will not fit with the LDF and will almost certainly be called in for a Public Inquiry.'"
Again, negative see the same post.
Quote: Sesquipedalian "Strong objections are expected from ASDA, Morrisons and Town Centre outlets'"
Town centre outlets responded IN FAVOUR of the development, Asda & Morrisons have no argument for objections - competition is deemed as favourable and the town doesn't have enough Supermarkets currently.
Quote: Sesquipedalian "The process is likely to take as long as 3 years with a strong likelihood of planning being refused'"
You wish.

Likely or wishful thinking? No one knows until the Planning Inspector holds the Inquiry
Quote: Sesquipedalian "Within the new LDF, WR is now zoned for housing'"
This is completely untrue! In the LDF (which is yet to be adopted) WR has been rejected as a housing only site, and is now part of a wider Special Policy Area - Keep Up
BTW at this moment in time WR is not classed anything, other than "White Land"

54709_1307880116.jpg Once a Sandal Wild Cat always a Sandal Wild Cat.
Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds
Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these
Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree
The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity!

So do you have to wait until the land is classified before you put in your application?
If it's not classified yet then you would assume that it would have to be judged upon current legislation (UDP) & not legislation that is about to be brought in (LDF)- just as NM was judged on UDP classification of being partially greenbelt.
Not wanting a slagging match (as NM will be delivered well before IMO ) just wanting your opinion.

I think with all that's happened since it was called in the signs are all pointing in the direction of a positive outcome, don't you agree?

Yep, and I fear it will be just in time to save Cas' bacon in the next franchise round! Cas playing in Wakey with Wakey in NL1 - nightmare scenario (for Cas as well, I reckon)?
