What makes it so sad is when you watch the early seventies footage the city look so vibrant and oddly far bigger. Even though technically the place is bigger now than then. People everywhere.

The mid 90’s was the last time it was even close to how I remember the seventies. Not just Wakey I know but I can’t help but believe that those of us born in the fifties and sixties probably had it as good as it’s ever likely to be in terms of lifestyle.

I’m aware it wasn’t the same for everyone, nor am I a Luddite it’s just a nagging feeling that life’s going to get a lot harder for my kids and grandkids.
