| Quote: Khlav Kalash "Sounds positive Vasty, have to say its the first game I've managed to get to since WP took over and the whole atmosphere is dramatically different. We've ended on a high that many weren't expecting and as long as the poop doesn't hit the fan this winter with you know what then a full interrupted season next year should be encouragement enough for the hard core to purchase a ST if they can.'"
It’s as positive as it can get in the current climate and with the bad luck that has dogged the stadium development for decades you can never be sur. I mean what next to scupper our plans, an invasion from Mars?
However on the field the fans can make a difference. It’s blind optimism but isn’t that how most changes for the better start?
Finally that was the best atmosphere at BV for ages and when you consider that was the worst turn out of Hull fans ever then it’s a great achievement.

| Up until the last couple of months, it had been another awful season, with RL being the most farcical of sports and handling covid pretty poorly.
The change in coach certainly changed our season around and at least we hit the end of the season with some optimism that we once again have a Trinity side to support, that will battle for 80 minutes.
Yes, we will come up short on occasion (Leigh) but, we are also capable of beating top sides (Warrington)..
We need some real positive news in the close season, either in terms of a couple of decent signings and/or progress on the ground.
There is little to compare with a decent game of RL and it's always great to see familiar faces at BV.
Thanks for the season and here's to many, many more

| Think the key is to keep Miller, Lin o looks like a very good signing ,and Lino and Miller are being to link well .Kay is signed up for next year and Hood as said he likes to run with the ball so that is 9 taken care off. Think it's the strongest we have been in 3 key positions for years

Kay, with his ability to play 9 has been the "find" of the season.
He filled in when the already bare bones were no longer available and what a fantastic job he's done
Also, a special mention to Lino for breaking the SL and NRL record for consecutive conversions

I agree.
I think Hood will be a key signing and if he can form the partnership with Lino and Miller it bodes well for us.
It's a linking we've been missing for quite a while.
I'd also keep Kay as the interchange Hooker to be honest. If he wants to.

| There’s a few things that have become apparent to all at the club and fans in the past few months. There are a few of these I hope we don’t make the same mistakes next year!
One major thing for me was how Chester used Tanginoa. He was thrust in at prop where he did a decent job after a long string of MOTM Performances at left SR.
It’s no coincidence that the past 6/7 games he’s been moved back to SR he’s again been a destructive force running wide.
Part of me feels that he was played at prop to accommodate Ashurst (who is solid still). Ashurst will have to fight for the bench spot imho next year and it will be criminal to see Tangi at prop unless we are decimated.

He originally went there because 1) we needed a prop badly and 2) his defense wasn't that consistent.
He seems to have improved the defense which might also reflect on Arundal being there rather than Toops but he deserves his spot.
For me he and Pitts start and right now I think I put Batch above Ashurst.
Nice problem to have.

Think kershaw and Kaye have been excellent, we currently don’t have an established interchange hooker - something Kaye could become as he has that bit more pace than Walker -
Walker provides good cover at hooker or at loose, be very interesting to see if we keep any of the unsigned players - all else being equal would love to see kershaw and Hampshire remain
Still think priority is a prop although where/how you sign one i wouldn’t know

| So unless one or both Woods are leaving the next year we have the following available to play at 9.
Wood
Wood
Hood
Kay
Walker
Bowes
That’s nearly half a team. I be always said you can’t have too many pivots but maybe you can
Kay and Walker obviously have other positions but that still leaves four.

Both Woods I think will be leaving or certainly are at the present time not signed.
Hood
Kay
Walker
Bowes
Is the current list. Not sure we need more than that with investment needed in other areas.

| The obvious advantage of having Kay at 9 is that he can cover in the backs if we lose a player with injury rather than having to move one of the second row to centre.
