| He has being a great servant to the club. He stayed when he could have no doubt moved to a bigger club and won the honours his career deserved.
In recent years injury took its toll and appearances were restricted Danny for me will go down in history with other underrated players like Nigel Bell Jonny T and Graham Idle who gave great service to Trinity
In some ways the club retained a season too long but his loyalty to Trinity was rightly rewarded with an extension.

| I would give him another 1 year deal, but more as a back up to tanginoa and ashurst rather than first choice. Maybe a two year deal with the second as a part of the coaching staff.
I’d also keep him as club captain.
Would be worth getting him more involved with coaching and then keeping on the staff once he finishes, similar to Finn I guess.

| I felt a little emotional watching danny Friday night as I assumed it was his last game for us
If it was the guy has being an absolute giant of a player for us and it will be a real loss
Perhaps he will play on another year for us? I am sure the club will make an announcement soon

Therein lies the problem. We don’t want to create a “job for the boys” environment. If DK applies for a coaching vacancy and is the best candidate, then fair enough.

| Besides, we’ve already got enough forwards on the coaching staff.

| A great servant to the club is an overused expression IMHO, in this case, though I think it fits. He will be missed as a part of the team, I love big Dave but I think its good that there are other big personality players in the team and Danny was one of those, without him or a similar replacement to much rests on Dave being the talisman. Not a criticism of Dave before Poptart overreacts but the pressure of being the only player with all answers would get to anyone.

| I don't really know Pitts but as he's the captain of the team that everyone agrees plays well as a team, I wonder whether he's the one Chester thinks might pick up that extra role as senior player/leader

TRB summed this up to me at the end of the match...once Fifita got sidelined through injury, it forced the rest of the players to wake up and realise that they could no longer rely on him to win us games and they would have to pull their fingers out and turn our wilting season around.

Absolutely, in a winning team, Dave is a huge bonus, in a losing team through no fault of his own he can be problematic, you simply can't be a one man team.

| He has been an absolute monster for us, ever since he came on loan to us from Hudds and absolutely busted a bollock everytime he played for us even when not our player. He them came to us at a time he was in contention for international honours and as some have said already played when he was busted because others appeared not to give a toss.
Huge respect and thanks are in order, but being harsh it's time for him to go. He's been a great servant but there is no room for sentiment.

| If Danny doesn't play on or doesn't get a gig with the coaching side of things I could see him been a great on the commercial team, Selling the club to businesses and when and if we get the new east stand done with the cooperative sections danny could excel in this side of things, Just a thought

I hope it was, or if he remains then only as a 3rd / 4th choice replacement.

| Talking of old boys so slightly OT but I thought Atkins put in a great stint considering how rusty he was.
