| It would be nice to think that we could have a brand new stadium built into a residential area instead of an industrial one, especially as there's supposed to be a pub going into the bottom of the city fields development. Though to be fair, I'd happily take a new stadium anywhere

I would think that the figure you quote is likely to be an estimate of the money paid by firms to build/buy warehouses etc. plus the price of the houses built on the land etc. etc. It definitely won't be the amount spent by the council!

Agree there. A pretty much exact copy of LSV and the stuff round it would be the ideal scenario for me.

We couldn't fill one of them. As a matter of interest only one of those stands is modern the other three are very old stands with new roofs - I'm a stadium anorak

| Seemed very strange driving along the new road for the first time. Lived in Wakefield for nearly seventy years and seeing familiar areas from a different angle was a weird experience. I felt like I was in a different city.
I'd love to see a new stadium around the old engine shed/power station site.

| Looking at former sports grounds, the Rushden & Diamond stadium is being/has been demolished.
Shame as it was a little cracker and if possible something similar to what Featherstone did would've been a relatively cheap way of getting new facilities. That with the Rotherham main stand and you get quite a nice set up.

I wonder if Wakefield Trinity are looking into the option of getting quality second hand stands [has Fev did] from other sports Stadia. If Wakefield Council are offering land to Trinity for a stadium, surely we would be able to get a fit for purpose Super League stadium together at a relatively inexpensive cost. It then could be upgraded over a period of time to even better facilities as Fev have done.

No, because we don't own a ground to build them on.

The point he's making is that if the council "gift" us some land on the city fields development, then we would own some land to develop
