| Good news
BTW why not merge the 4 "Tim Smith" threads rather than locking them, as it would tidy the board up

| Excellent news - one of the best hb's in SL is a WTW player for the next 2 years; lovely stuff.

| Fantastic news. This will keep anyone sniffing away now. Think the likes of Hull might have approached after their recent half back searches haven't come to fruition. If he replicates his form of the second half of the season will be a serious contender for man of steel next season.

| It was evident early in the season that when Tim played well - we played well.
By May / June I was saying that we needed to have Tim tied down for a longer contract. It was clear then that there was going to be a merry-go-round of half backs - Wigan were in need, Hulls hb's were failing, Rangi was in trouble and there were lots of rumours in the game. I was therefore delighted that we too Tim off the market shelf and am even more delighted to have this extra 12 months.
Apparently the reason for it initially being just another 12 months was because Tim wanted it that way as he wanted to keep his options open for a potential return home. The fact that he has now signed this extension says a lot about the way the club have welcomed him and looked after him and it is to their great credit - and our great benefit - that they can do this.
I have really warmed to Tim - the fact that he has had his problems, fought them and come back fighting endears him to me. I think of him as one of ours and like a precious gem that needs tlc to make it shine brightly.
This may be a bit ott - but I don't care!
Big season looming!

| Of all the contract extensions & new signings this is the best one for me.
Whilst he had plenty of supporters giving him a hard time early on (I haven’t forgotten to booing incident) it was clear to me the bloke has a terrific rugby brain.
Due to his condition he will have his off days, however, on his day he’s as good as anything in the league.
Well done to the club – Go Timmy.

| In my opinion this is the best signing and news I have heard up to now. Tim Smith is the guy that makes us tick and having now for at least another 2 seasons is absolutely fantastic, gives us stability and something to build for the medium to long term future.
Could not be happier.

| Said it from the off that with a half decent partner at 6 he would do the side well.Once Sykes was put at 6 it made it so he could play his own game and not have to look out for his half back partner.Brilliant news and look forward to the next 2 years of his wizard game.

IMHO this was the turning point in our season.....he had his worst game in a Trin shirt and was rightly substituted...and to me that appeared to galvanise him for the rest of the season, and the rest, as they say, is now written in the history books.
Onwards and upwards..

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.
Sharing First World problems so you can get it right first time.

| It is indeed great news. I was delighted to hear about it on YR last night. Until now it seemed strange to extend the rest of the squad until the end of the franchise period yet our key play maker was only one extra year.
This extension shows faith by the club in Tim and the ambition of the club.
Like said above, it keeps Hull and other prying eyes away.

| All good news and if we get Goulding jnr would have a good back up player if he was injured.

| I think we have made the two most important signings we have made in the last 25 years in the last two month.
Second most important is Smith. Quality player who could have got another gig in SL as so many have in the past. He could be better than Solomona as he is a pivot player and runs the game.
First and by far the most important is Amor. Regardless of how little some Leeds fans rate him or indeed McNamara - he is undoubtably a player we the fans and the club wanted to keep. We kept him against stiff opposition from far more fashionable clubs. When did we last manage that!. It's a notice of intent that we no longer sell. If we produce a player we keep them. Won't happen every time but this is a start, a massive start. As it happens I think Amor will go all the way but that's not really the point.
Much as I sympathised with the old regime, the latter is something they never did and IMHO never had the will to.
Big pat on the back for the club, now just remeMber to pay the PAYE.
