It's baffling that someone with this record hasn't even made the shortlist.

I understand that one of the selection panel did mentioned the name Neil Fox... but no one could find any record of a player by that name ever playing for Wigan?

Why am I not surprised by that one mind you with all the problems at the Bulls quite surprised that Hanley aint made it having played for Bulls and Wigan

Neil Fox belongs in Wakefield so I hope he dons the gates at Newmarket even if it was a bust

Martin Offiah are we having a laugh no problem with the other 4 but Fox should be in the 5 every thing the RFL do becomes a farce

Yes it's quite amazing Hanley has'nt made it, aurguably the finest modern day player, but to also leave Big Neil out, I find an insult to our club and player.

Unfortunately for big Neil he played for Trinity.End of story.
I saw Ashton, in his prime and he was a great player but Neil was better.
Boston, a prolific try scorer, can't argue with him being close to it.
Murphy a great scrum half but not great enough to gain such recognition.
Risman I know nothing of as I never saw him play but he was a prolific scorer and played to a grand old age. A bit like Neil really but not as prolific.

Like someone else said he should have recognition at Newmarket-that's all that matters.

As for Neil Fox, definitely should be immortalised in some way outside the Newmarket Lane stadium and thats the best place for him to be; in his home city where proper RL heroes get remembered.
