| Broughton at Salford has been one of the stand-out Wingers in a poor side. His tries against Bradford probably secured him the spot. Not seen wing play like that for many years. Two candidates for SL try of the season.

Agreed, Lynch is one of the best English props around. Everyone gets excited about James Grahem but Lynch is just as good.

Jamie Langley, Andy Lynch and Nick Scruton.
Ben Jones-Bishop, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook.
Can agree why he's picked these, all pretty handy players, especially the props.

| Don't think Langley offers anything to an International side. Bulked up, bread and butter, plodding immobile forward. He's gone backwards since the days he was being used as a makeweight for the possible transfer of Gaz Ellis to the Bulls.
How funny now to remember the knowledgable Bulls fans doubting Ellis's potential and crying over the possible loss of Reardon and Langley. Leeds stepped in and the rest is history.
Think Nick Scrotum has gone backwards since his trandsfer from Leeds too.
Classic examples of the coach looking after his pals.

| I can see why Lynch is in there because i think he has had a good season.
Sykes should be nowhere near the squad, he is a below average super league player and should not even have a sniff. I can think of at least 6 english centres (Shenton, Atkins, Bridge, Murphy, Senior, Gleeson) and also at leat 6 english halfbacks (Myler, Eastmond, Mcguire, Brough, Brown, Tompkins) who are better than him. There are also more in both posistions who are better than him but the list would become long and boaring.

| On this season's form neither Shenton nor Westerman should be anywhere near the final 17....whether at centre or backrow Ferres has consistently performed better than both.
Anyway all McNamara has done by picking so many Bulls is shown himself up as being unable to win hardly any games despite such a 'wealth of talent' at Odsal.

| Been unlucky enough to visit the Brother-in-laws corporate box at Cas this season on a few occasions and Joe Westerman's form has been nothing short of horrible,He's been a passenger this season and even his goalkicking has gone backwards.
And as for Paul Sykes! The nearest he should be to an England shirt is in JJB Sports.Numerous times he's been given a chance and every time a poor showing.

| How he got the job in the first place amazes me. The Bradford slump started when he took over and although the club lost some big players he had long enough to rebuild a team. His team selection leaves a lot to be desired although he isn't helped because of the number of imports that SL clubs have on their books. I can't see anything other than a hammering at the hands of Australia and probably New Zealand too.

As you will see from my previous post I'm not one of the 'Westy can do no wrong' brigade but your assessment of his form is way OTT....his goal kicking is pants though.

| My personal opinion of Westerman is that he has become too big for his boots and he needs to knuckle down again to try and get back to the form that got him in the Cas team in the first place.

| Lynch deserves his place in the current squad. Whether he'll make it to the trimmed down one I don't know. Scruton isn't far off. Langley and Sykes haven't been good enough. However he's picked a large training squad so if there's a glut of injuries to top players then rest aren't all sunning themselves on holiday and can be easily called up.
The moaning about these selections misses the point that the game over here really struggles for depth in quality players. He's not picked Sykes & Co over some other far more deserving cases that I can see.
