It was clear last season, following the tragic deaths of Adam and Leon, that the club operated a (for want of a better phrase) 'council of elders' within which JD held seniority. Morrison was inspirational yesterday on the pitch and was charming off it. He is a big hit with my lads already after meeting him after the final whistle. I don't however think this leads to him needing to be captain.

As has been said there are noisy captains and quiet captains, some lead with a word, some with an action. JD is doing something right or else we would not have got through last year.

Agree that Morrision should be there when JD goes off, which he's bound to do now and again - even if it is only for 30secs whlist Johnson comes on!
Thought JD was a bit quieter yesterday than in previous games. Guess the old guy may take a bit of getting going!!!

I thought JD went well yesterday, an improvement on Hunslet and Quins match, Broke a few tackles, was solid in defence and created a try.

i agree jd was good last night carried strong set up another try with some good skill, and his defence was excellent best of back rowers. In the last two weeks jd has shown good skill to set up murphy and george, just what we wanted our back row to do is'nt it. Morrison played well but he also missed several takles and was invovled in conceding two soft tries. JD is respected by our coach highly hense he is our captain which says to me that away from game day he must be a very good captain.

JD is captain for a reason, he has TOTAL RESPECT from every other player and that includes the new guys IMO of course.

i agree, when jd is speaking the others are listening ! it was also good to see broughy supporting morton, we also look very much to be "a team" which is great to see..probably be depressed this time next week though ... unless ? ..NO, surely not !

Well I said when he signed for you that the only one of the 3 players we were losing to you guys I was sad about was Morrison. The guy is immense. Guaranteed you'll get more than your 80 minutes worth every time he takes to the field. Just hope he has better injury luck playing for you than he had with us

He's been superb so far and with luck and a injury free spell he'll turn out to be a massive signing for us.

Early days yet but BJ is playing well.

Despite my initial doubts, what with the age and all that, Mr Morrison with his efforts yesterday hase made me think again and looks to be quite a shrewd buy. Hope there's more reasons to be cheerful with Morrison's performances this year...

so far our new signings are looking very good, morro tronc millard jeffries and now king.

The one thing that I don't like about JD's captaincy is that he doesn't seem to say anything when the players are behind the sticks after conceding - it's the only time on the field that the players can be spoken to as a proper group.

Tesco is already showing that he's far better at this than JD and IMO that's why he should be captain.

Ultimately, it's a non-discussion really as JK has said that JD will be captain for as long as the pair of them are at BV.
