We might have been but that was the only penalty given against us for offside all night, are you saying we were never off side other than that occasion?
For that one occasion to be penalised was a defining moment in the match

I'm not saying we weren't, but does it matter if it is after the knock on? I can understand it when it is the offending side who land on the ball after the knock on, as they have prevented the defending side from retrieving the ball and playing the advantage, but surely once Leeds knock on, nothing else matters if the players haven't involved themselves in the game?

Given that you're not going to the games anymore, I will not take part in your tirade. Goodbye.

| Crucial moment was when he penalised Leeds at the start of the second when Drew decided it was time for a lay down.
Leeds were well on top and on for a length of fielder but got pulled back and penalised for obstruction. Game over without that call.

Think it was 50/50 that one. Ablett went for the old "I'll just run casually into his path to sandwich him and make it look accidental", but I think Drew was looking for it. Wouldn't have been surprised had it not been given.
Think the length of the field run was only on because the whistle had blown and the players had stopped. Not as crucial as the offside decision, because you wouldn't have scored that next try and there would not have been enough time. Even if you had got the try, it would have only put you 6 ahead. Wakey scored another 14 after that.
Still no one has pointed out why it matters about Gleeson once Leeds have knocked on, as they could not have been deprived of any advantage.

| Watching it back he says it is Drew that is offside and as they were attacking that side all I can think of is no advantage but I must say Drew didn't even look interested in getting involved and Gleeson gathered the ball probably the right call by Ganson but was very crucial as the Leeds player knocked on before any impact in a tackle

What, you mean it would have been a penalty anyway, but Ganson was just seeing how the play developed on the off-chance Leeds scored. If so, fair play.

Along those lines yes, I seem to remember Silverwood doing similar against quins not sure if it was for us or quins but te ball had been passed around some one knocked on and as no advantage had been made he went back to an infringement and gave a penalty. For me the penalty should be given straight away cuts out the confusion and is fairer on the fans who's backs don't get up then. IMO it was the correct call just at a very crucial time

| He was offside, if he'd made more effort we may have got away with it.
He didn't make enough effort and we got pinged, thats the way it goes.
Ganson missed a few and got a few right, BUT WE BLEW IT.

very true, it was very wakefield like, never try to close out a game but always try to lose it from a very good posItion almost did the same against Bradford at BV

| Quote Slugger McBatt="Slugger McBatt"The crucial moment was when Ganson penalised us for offside after Leeds had knocked on. They scored from the next six and were back in the game.
Now, if Gleeson hadn't picked up the ball (I assume that he was the one offside), Ganson would have blown for the scrum, as he hadn't blown for the offside at that point. So if the knock on has already been committed, does it matter about Gleeson?
Not bagging the refs, as for me the Atkins try was a no try, as I thought Peterson touched it, and so you win some, you lose some, but the crucial decision confused me.'"
It wasn't just Gleeson though. It was half of your side who were stood well in front of Ganson.
I can't say I noticed Wakey being offside at the time, I'm just not watching the game for that kind of thing, so getting the penalty after the knock on was a major relief. But when Sky showed the replay moments after, it was clear that a penalty was a fair decision.
