Alas my diary was too full to attend... Although as soon as I woke up I looked at Twitter for the score and scores...

Did you go it’s a fair question after all you asked the same. I didn’t so you don’t need to ask me just to save you an unnecessary post.

Go on then how is it a fair question. Tell me exactly what me being there or not has to do with the point I made. Why would anyone need to be there to come to the conclusion that we won comfortably and didn’t just edge it.
Are you really that desperate to point score? Tragic even for you.
So no it’s not a fair question or a relevant one imo so I’m not answering it, simple as that.

| Quote: Spookisback "I think (only an opinion) that Whitbread will be one of the starting middles... in the modern game it doesn’t matter if thats 8,10 or 13... he has exceptional hands and is strong... almost tailor made for the British game... I was expecting Gaskell to be in the halves with Milky but I really like Brad Walker... his game is developing really nicely.
Halifax have a decent group of players and were very close to the top of the championship last year ... I hope the fundraising for Grix’s testimonial was good!'"
I thought Walker played well in the halves today and personally I think he could make it there.
As for Whitbread I’m in agreement, he’s not an out and out prop from what I saw but I think that’s where he will start. If we stay clear of injuries and as the pitches harden he will probably move to being a middle. I’ve been banging on about the universal forward or utility as they used to be called, for a while now, Whitbread fits into that mould imo. Crowther is another as are a couple of the youngsters coming through, FWIW I think speciality forwards will become a thing of the past, you will either be a middle or a wide runner or both if you’re good enough, time will tell. Size will still matter but not in the way it used to.
In a way they mirror Poching himself who was extremely versatile.

I am not actually point scoring, just pointing out that you are not the oracle despite your desire to have an opinion on everything.
I did not go therefore I didn’t think I could post anything about the team performance. I am pleased with the final score. If you actually went to the game how did Johnson go after his problems with concussion.

| Does it really matter who went and who didn't??
You can still comment on a game regardless if you attended it or not.

Exactly.
Wouldn’t mind but it was the score line I was referring to.
Moving on.

| Have to say, the Shay would grace SL as a stadium. Even after the BV upgrade it won’t be as good a ground imho.
For me their are two clubs in the Championship that with the right investment could make it in SL. Bradford obviously, especially with so much relatively recent success to play on. Halifax is the other. Good ground, good latent fan base, strong RL area and so on.
With the right people in charge it could work unlike Leigh which as a place is just to small or Salford that as a place barely exists anymore.

| Not that it matters who did or didn't go but if comments are going to be made on player performances or events during in the match, I'd say it definitely makes comments/opinions more credible when you were actually in attendance. Many times I've listened to a game on the radio or followed it on Twitter only to then watch the highlights afterwards and see an event play out so differently to how it was described previously.
On the back of Vastmans last comment, the Shay is an excellent stadium especially when taking into account that it's home to both the Panthers and the Halifax football team. Very well kept with excellent facilities and stands. A real pleasure visiting every time.
I really think Halifax have recruited well in the off season and played some good rugby, especially in the first 20 of the second half. Looking forward to watching them on Premier Sports this year, it's hard to see past Fev and Leigh but I'd like to see them competing at the top.

They were one of the bigger clubs back in the 80's and pulled in 9000 attendances.
It's just a shame that we have kept on and keep on shrinking the top flight.
Mind you, their last season in SL was pretty forgettable.
