Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Quote: fun time frankie "iknow i suppose its been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for you lot when you were expected to be kicked out of SL players leaving and all that i think youve recruited well a lot better team on paper than some clubs'"
It has been a rollercoaster for sure! We have recruited well enough to challenge for mid table which I would be happy with. Last year youth featured heavily, some of which were ready ( Johnson, Moriano, Wildie) some of which didn't cut it. We have kept the success stories and signed players who can challenge in the mid levels of SL.
We are still a work in progress but we will be more of a challenge for most teams this year. I'd like to think we will be around mid table with kr, hull and cas next year.
I think Salford have more to worry about this coming season. Coaching unrest, thin squad. I hope they get it together for their fans sake.

Leeds, Saints and Wire to make up the top three. I think Leeds will start well. I wonder whether 2011 was Wire's year and they blew it. Might be hard to maintain the momentum like this year when they ended finishing like they did. Saints kids will be a year older, and they'll be back in 'Tellins.
Between Wigan and Huddersfield for fourth, because I wonder whether Wane is more of a very good assistant than an astute head coach.
Hull sixth and Catalan seventh.
The last one of the top eight between Hull KR, us and Cas, and it will all boil down to which of the new coaches cuts the mustard. I fancy Agar to do best, because he has started with a cleaner sheet, whereas the others are taking on complete squads but might want to do different things.
Bradford for more of the same, then Widnes. Quins and Salford for bottom spot.
I feel most sorry for Salford, because next year should be the year they really kick on, with all the momentum of a new ground. It seems like right now they are going to blow the opportunity, and so will they ever recover from it? No sugar daddy and a permanent crowd of 3,000. Not good.

either way, it happens when it happens. castleford had to do it last year, its our turn this year if leeds get to the final again. its out of our control, just have to get on with it.'"
Let's hope so - should have gotten some momentum from that to go in against Widnes

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

This [i'stupid plastic grass'[/i could help make clubs like Widnes and Wakey viable in their own right, as opposed to needing a [i'Sugar Daddy'.[/i
So, instead of ridiculing it, pray it is successful for the sake of the game itself. RL fans can't afford to be too fussy, by poo pooing what could turn out to be a lucrative form of year-round income for us all.
Good luck for the new season, by the way

I wouldn't take that bren2k's silly comments, or yourself, too seriously if I were you.
I think it's great that you're being set up as sacrificial lambs for the revitalised Wakefield Trinity and that it'll be on Sky for all to see; bring it on!

wake up. Its not plastic grass, this isn't Loftus road in the ninties. Secondly why do you think Eddie and stevo will be buzzing off us? The first time anyone gets injured on our pitch Eddie will bitch like a mighty mother lover, nonstop untill the season ends, blaming anything and everything on the pitch. Just you watch, it won't take long for his anti widnes streak to shine through.

Looks like we've 'dumped' a load of players who weren't up to the job - I don't feel especially super about the volume of our overseas recruitment as a result, but given that we were many months behind everyone else (especially you lot, which is another story altogether) I guess we've done what we had to do.
Over the 3 years, I'd expect us to be tonking you with an increasing number of homegrown players.

not far off the mark and we have with the U14s have a player that is a liken to Sam Tomkins in his attitude to winning and skill
I hope the lad will sign for us but there is some big clubs sniffing around and he is a rhino's supporter
time will tell
