| The sin bin for Fifita seemed to be for mouthing off to the powers that be rather than for the tackle. If it was for the tackle it wasn't the ref that gave it as he walked away from Fifita, then turned round and gave him a yellow.
I was really impressed with Wakey tonight I've got to say. Poaching seems to have something about him as a coach. You came with a gameplan to shift the ball through the halves and go wide early and it worked. You looked really lively and made several breaks. Our defense is outstanding but you really made them work. Which in turn led to our weakest attacking effort of the season as we looked laboured and slow with the ball and a few of them were visibly knackered.
Poaching came up with a gameplan that worked and he deserves credit for that. The other two teams we've faced, Catalans and Hull have tried to grub their way to keeping the score down, Wakefield chose to play rather than niggle and it was the hardest game we've had by a distance. With the score at 16-4 you were on top for quite a while. Had you scored at that point you'd have had a great chance.
I was bored by our attack so counted your fans. 204. One kid possibly counted twice as he was doing laps of the terrace. Decent noise.

Wait no … hang on… there can’t be the faint song of praise for the Trinity … several Saints fans have been generous in their praise for our team and the way we play… so thank you… seems we have a spark of something building…

After watching the Cas game I turned over to Sky sports news, they put both scores on with the usual comments, they said Saints won comfortably and Wakefield managed to score a late try in the dying minutes, so typical, so glad I've cancelled my Sky sports.

| The only one of the three losses that narks me so far is the Hull loss. I'm convinced with better game management we would have won that one.
Since then, two losses, both away, against last season GF teams.
On both occasions, especially in France a good effort coming from Trinity.
If they continue as they are, I don't think a win is far away.

Wakey played very well last night the plan to play an unorthodox offloading game with creative kicking worked to an extent causing Saints to look uncomfortable and to adopt a scrambling defence.
Thought the best player on the pitch last night was Miller, his distribution was excellent and a couple of spells was the the architect of some line breaks on your left hand edge.
The negative from Saints point of view was the referee struggling to control the game with a spoiling stop start game, didn't suit the Saints but helped Wakey mix it up a bit, their were quite a few injury stoppages with some Wakey players which allowed their defence to reset.
Wakey with better final execution could have scored 18 points with Saints similar failing to score another 12 points.......Won't be long before Wakey start to put a run of winning games together.

| Thank you Judder Man.
So nice to get an opposition view point who watches both sides.
Very pleased to hear you say that we were prepared to try unorthodox plays to try and gain an advantage.
At least Willie Poching is coming across as a thinking head coach.

Two games that Bowes could easily have gone hiding in against the champions and runners up but seems the young lad has earned some respect with his performances. Good on him and he will be better for the experience and be rewarded with another game no doubt.

| Wakefield Trinity boss Willie Poching told BBC Radio Leeds"I'm really proud of the effort. There's no fault in that, especially defensively. We fronted up and chanced our arm, which is part of what we wanted to do.
"They don't give you much and you have to take the opportunities you're given. We lost our composure a bit, we had a plan, we didn't quite execute how we wanted to, but they showed their quality.
"It's been a tough couple of weeks for us to go away to both Grand Finalists and I told the boys they deserve to hold their head up high."[/i
Yep...agree with all that, Willie

Play as you did against Saints next week and I think you’ll comfortably beat Leeds.
Agree with much that’s already been said, only really disagree the scoreline flattered, I think it was pretty spot on, with both teams ruing missed opportunities to put more scores on the board.

No shame to lose to a team like Saints by that score.
