| Quote: musson "This is very sad but there was no other option
Chris Is clearly a very nice bloke
Gave us some amazing rugby to watch when he first came in that turned the club around and for that I thank him
This was the best thing for all concerned as this situation could not go on
All the very best too you Chris'"
Have to agree with Musson on this one.
Very difficult circumstances for everyone. The impact of Covid on the game shouldn't be underestimated. It clearly limited resources even further for the club. Believed Michael Carters statement had some objectivity and realisation of the multiple challenges Chris, the team and ultimately the wider game have faced over the last two seasons.

I was saying the same thing earlier today. The impact on players is an unknown. We were talking about Tinny Arona, him being a shadow of his former self (someone referring to him blowing out of his backside etc). I've noticed that recently it takes him sometimes a couple of plays to get back into the defensive line. Could it be physical, a poster referred to long covid etc, or could it be mental/psychological. He probably hasn't seen his extended family for quite a while and will be a while in the future and he may just want to go home (in those circumstances, who could blame him?)
Pure speculation from a keyboard on my part

| The last interview after the game sort of capped it off. Making no secret of having to spend more money probably didn't help.
It was only the day before he was explaining the quality signings the club had made.
I still can not help but think he's been let down regarding funding, and I don't see Poaching having much look in that department either should his pole position prove successful.

Its not the affiliation with a political party, its the drab decor, smoke filled entrance ways, meat raffles, numerous gammons and terrible beer that puts me off

Well done on derailing another thread. Now, stay on topic or you will be gone again, but for longer this time.

Why doesn’t South Stander do anything about it. We all know whenever it crops up again, can’t be that hard to press the ban button.

You know when someone uses the term Karen or in this case gammon you’re dealing with a middle class pre pubescent who’s done a drama degree at one of the poly universities. They are desperate to be part of the London cosmopolitan elite or even better a racial minority but don’t have the relevant qualifications or the ability to leave their own bedroom.
This is his world, one of the few places he thinks he can throw about his glib woke nonsense and his blatant racism.
Gammon is a racist term in every sense of the word. Hard working, law abiding, middle aged white men who are conservative (not the party) by nature, t’s very specific. It also covers most of us on here and it’s highly offensive. It’s in every way the equivalent of coon, a derogatory term for black men.
This poster should receive a life time ban for using this term. He won’t because the mindset these days is whites are fair game and somehow aren't afforded the same considerations as all other groups. Just because we have the numbers and thus a perceived privilege doesn’t make the use of the term acceptable.
RL fans needs to ban him for this alone, zero tolerance to racism includes everyone or nobody, so which is it I wonder.

| Agree wholeheartedly Vastman. I frequent the ‘Con’ club on match days and the clientele are mixed . Men and women from varying backgrounds. I too resent the term ‘Gammon’ being used to belittle a section of society. Actually using it demonstrates utter hypocrisy and contradicts what the users purport to believe in.

| I don't think we quite need the outrage. I don't think it was intended to be a racist slur. The phrase is often used in mainstream media rightly or wrongly.
But the point stands. Keep to the subject of the thread.
Poky, as always, as a guest on here, if you come on just to wind Wakefield fans up, that priviledge will be taken away.

| So back to the thred So if Mr Chester had not Brough in so many players for the posions we were cover for, and spent the cash he would have saved on the poisons that needed strengthening he might have still been in a job .Overall he as wasted a lot of cash

Not being funny here as, as thing stands your post doesn't make much sense, you mention Brough presumably you think he was a bad buy, well we can all be smart with hindsight, but prior to him having got injured I nor anyone else had a problem with his signing.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |

| Early indications are that Brian McDermott is interested.
He would personally be my number one choice with what seems available. He’s been a winner and enjoyed good relative levels of success at his clubs.
Further to that he appears a strong coach who would have no problem whipping the team into how he wants them playing.
I guess there is a few candidates so we will see.

He would be my first choice too.

I didn`t have a problem with his signing, I was actually in favour of it but there is no doubting that with his age and him slowing down the couple years before he was a big risk, in a key position and took up the budget, there were plenty of posters on here that posted that at the time. In the same vein he could of been a huge success, as I say its a risk, some work out some don`t, it`s all in hindsight as you say but some signings are riskier than others and Brough was a big risk that didn't pay off IMO.
Nobody really knows with signings, I now try to avoid getting too excited or too negative about any signings, Anthony Tupou springs to mind as one I got very excited about we all knew how that turned out and then you have signings like Kirmo, I mean who got excited about that at the time? Didn`t we get him in a swap deal with 2 or 3 other players? Then out of nowhere he was probably the best second row forward in the league for a couple of years, anyway I`m going down the garden path into the wilderness on this one, too much caffeine this morning
