Magic Weekend "Whipping Boys" 2013, 2014 & 2015
2017 - The year the dream disappeared under Grix's right foot.
2018 - The FinniChezz Bromance
2019 - The return of the Prodigal Son.

| Quote: Kevs Head "Think it’s fair to say that, barring a miracle, results this weekend have sealed our fate. We need to start planning for the Championship with a new coach not afraid to drop experienced players who aren't cutting it - LIneham, Hood, Taufua to name three - and give youngsters the opportunity to prove themselves. I don’t bag coaches - I don’t know the first thing about coaching - but Applegarth (and several players) have shown they’re not up to it. Start planning for the future now - it’ll be here sooner than we’d like!'"
Lineham and Hood should just be given up as a bad job but feel a bit for Taufua as he puts in some real graft for the full 80 but just doesn't have any pace. Similar problem with Ashurst today who got put into some promising positions off Lino but just can't shift up a gear these days.
Crowther frustrates the hell out of me with his poor ball retention.

Silly comment. If we are to rebuild we need to retain our best ...max is precisely that

| OK so let's work on no relegation we will still be left with at least 7 players who just don't cut it. No relegation would not assist the rebuilding process and ensure more over the top contract would still be paid while finding money to issue new ones.
Its a complete mess thanks to Carter

| My take on things
I wasn't against the appointment of Applegarth based on his reputation with the youth set-up. Willie didn't get his contract extended and the club clearly wanted to go in a different direction with a leaner squad and new ideas.
Pre season went fairly well until the Hull game but to be fair a lot of younger players were used.
The season to me has been dysfunctional from a fixture point of view and I hate Friday nights it does nothing for me.
Now to the performances, they have been woeful, the tactics if there are any are boring and its not a pleasurable experience to watch.
I have not been away this season as I cannot be bothered and have other things to do. I didn't go to France as I was overseas and I didn't go this weekend as the event really doesn't interest me.
I watched the game if you could call it that and it was the same dross dished up again.
I read the coaches comments this morning and to say the comments by the coach are baffling are an under statement! To say we looked like the team that was down to 12 men said it all, and that the tactics weren't changed is comedy genius against 11 then 12 men. That display was completely unacceptable.
So the takeover is either on and nobody in the club is prepared to invest at this time and the proposed new owner is not prepared to prop the club up until the ink dries.
The rugby by Wakefield this season is the poorest ever that said I think the whole game is going down the pan and need to sort itself out this IMG stuff seems like a load of rubbish to me.

He meant the tactics that he'd explained when they first went down to 12.
He asked for composure and they just kept panicking with the ball and trying to win it on their own.
But again, with or without a coach. If a team can't work out how to score against 11 men there is no hope for them.

Think they were kind to us ,they could see how bad we were,. When the Pundits said with about 20 minutes of the second half left(, Leigh do right to take of there better players to give them a rest this match is won ) sums up what a shocking team we are

| Disagree completely on Max. If we had any decent attacking organisation he'd be good, like he has been in the past. We just have no structure, whether the players are good enough or not is up for debate but what isn't is the coaching. We can have bad players and still look well coached, sadly we don't. He simply has to go. Even against 11 we couldn't create an overlap. We are an embarrassment to the sport in all honesty

Agree with all of that.
It explains my general malaise with rugby league and my particular issues with Trinity. I've supported our board generally till now but their handling of everything this season, from anniversary kit choices, to recruitment, to "member shareholder issues" aka donations, to poching out, Applegarth in and the insane continuation with a coach who can't pick a side correctly let alone coach it to attack, has been a fiasco that has left me utterly dispirited with our club. I hope MC and JM get this deal over the line because I think they've shown they're out of ideas and they can't achieve anything else now. Thanks for all you've done but please make your departure happen now, respectfully intended

Attacking wise yes, he has plenty of positives. But defensively he is poor and doesn’t seem to have improved at all in that area over a number of years. It’s what will stop him being a top fullback.
