What about if the temporary seats could be relocated to the North Stand because they would be undercover and still retain a reasonable view. I am sure that the safety barriers can be removed and the seats bolted in. It would mean that those currently situated in the North stand would have to move to the bottom rows and down the sides, outside the cover maybe the club could take some of the west stand to accommodate them.
This would mean that they would receive what they paid for and ground season ticket holder’s would not be impacted because it doesn’t guarantee any cover.

Quote: dboy "If being dry is more important than seeing the game, fine.

It doesn't rain every game day, and you wouldn't get all the seats needed in that area.

Bottom line is, there is NO neat solution to the short term issues caused by the re-development.

We have to live with for, perhaps, 10 more home games.'"

I disagree, the current development is not a solution at all because the Western Terrace is not included. While ever it remains like that and we put away fans there, then less and less will attend games. Also the state of the ground will still get justified criticism.

I know Vasty has stated he has no problem with the viewing and neither do I in all fairness because we are both quite tall. However my wife and Grandson refused to stand there as they had a terrible view. Luckily we were not forced to go there but the away supporters dont have that choice.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me. WTRLC 2012 to 2014 "The wasted years" Magic Weekend "Whipping Boys" 2013, 2014 & 2015 2017 - The year the dream disappeared under Grix's right foot. 2018 - The FinniChezz Bromance 2019 - The return of the Prodigal Son. 2020 - Keeping the faith.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_2597.jpg

I was one of many who stood at the southern end of the western terrace until we were moved during glovers lets take the north stand back promo. Would happily go back there.

Prefer us in the North Stand good atmosphere. Perfect solution would be seated stand replacing hospitality block for away fans and new west stand for media and home fans, sadly we don’t have the money. Wouldn’t be surprised if a Salford City FC style stand replacing western terrace eventually

I’m happy we’re getting a new east stand and improved south stand to be honest.

The East Stand needs to be done first - if you don't know the reasons for that, you must have been living on Mars for the last 3 years.

The West Terrace DOES need doing - it's awful. But there is order that the ducks need to be put in.

I would have liked it done before the North re-furb, but again, there will be reasons why it is that way.

Until there is something to replace the income streams of the South Hospitality Block, it isn't going anywhere - but yes, it would be nice to have a stand down that end for away fans.

When did we get so full of ourselves that we thought we have the options, scope and money for perfect solutions.

It's gonna be along ride to get the stadium how we really want it.

First things first!

No it won't, it has no boxes when I last looked. So the existing boxes still offer vital funding channels. The top decks could be rented as office space once we vacate them. The lower deck still has a passable restaurant/function room etc etc.

Why remove a structure that we have paid for (sort of) and has great earning potential for a structure that would cost millions, barely ever be full with no use other than matchdays. Sorry mate, makes no sense. Would only make sense if our capacity is tested numerous times in a season which is less likely than us beating Cas.

So long as the flats don't get condemned they are a very valuable asset in my opinion. Cas would love something as good at their ground.

Most new stands don’t have boxes, they use the corporate facilities the take to their reserved seats.

I know how it works but having both is a bonus.

After all the work we will have a capacity of 8,500 I think. That will never get tested in the near future.

However should we stay up there will be games where we can sell as much corporate as we can muster.

A new South stand would be a white elephant for now. Don’t get me wrong if we could afford it I’d do it but it’s right at the very bottom of the priority list for now in my book. West stand next when possible.

I Am so pleased and grateful the east stand is being replaced
It’s absolutely massive for us and almost miracle like it’s finally happening

SL opposition fans will always give us stick until the Western trace is tidied or upgraded

Getting rid of the cabins and scaffold and simply covering the existing terrace would be adequate assuming the new stand can house sky cameras

Appreciate it would take money we’ve not got but we can dream

As much as I disagree with the St Helens media team for doing this, we have brought it upon ourselves
There’s absolutely no excuse for the absolutely embarrassing state of that touchline provision for a professional sports club. It demonstrates a total lack of care, we simply haven’t been bothered enough to provide something suitable and it’s been like that for a decade.
