Didn't we have Ella, Mark Graham and Brent Todd at the start of that season?'"
IIRC Taylor came over prior to the challenge cup game against Wigan, played 20mins got injured, we never saw him again after that.

I was on holiday in Australia when Paul Taylor was signed by Trinity... it was back page news in Sydney and the video footage of his debut and subsequent injury was on the early evening news.
The match was against Leeds at home and Taylor had his career curtailed by an ACL injury early in the game.

we had lined up Graham, Ella ... Mark Elia and Ian Roberts
Elia pulled out before the season and Todd was a late replacement for Roberts who (i think) got injured before he was due to fly over. Todd was recommended by Graham but, it seems, didn't see eye to eye with coach Dave Topliss and his few performances in the R W & B were dire!

At least it reinforces the pack. Who do you think we could've got on our budget? James Graham?

| No I wasnt. I wasnt expecting Andrew Fifita either. The only reason I mentioned him initially is that his rumoured contract is similar to Fifitas. My comment was that if there was a valid deal on the table for one and the funds were there, then why not.
Huddersfield finished bottom last year and it is the players that got them there. A coach has come in and is starting to clear dead wood. We have taken 3 if it is true.
It doesnt fill me with a lot of confidence if Im being honest.

| Well I'd rather have Huby over the likes of Cox or Bailey any day tbh. Yes they were part of the squad that finished bottom last year, equally they've been part of the squad that have been in the Top 4 before that for the past few years. I don't think you can take too much out of which team they're from anyway. You've got to analyze them on what each can bring to the team in their respective positions and whether they are starting 17 each week or decent back ups and whether they make our squad stronger than last year. I'd say yes on all 3 of them.

You / we have got to be smarter than that. Good players play in bad teams sometimes, without being bad players, or even their team-mates being bad players. Sometimes the chemistry just isn't right. Grix, Wood and Huby can all do a good job for our club, and that's the only measure I'm interested in!

| I want the same thing too, us to have a good squad that is competetive.
Odd player from a basement club I can understand, but I think we have taken more than players than any other club. As for Wood and Grix, I just hope that these two will be back up players more than anything.
I hope to be proved wrong regarding my recent thoughts on Huby. As I have said in the past, I have rated him in the past, but I try not to look back too far when it comes to players. He did, the last few games he played for Huddersfield look out of condition.

| If this is true, they are good signings for a club like ours; Huby in particular, if he's in decent shape and ready to work, will be handy - he's a big unit, but has a few silky skills in terms of footwork and offload - and loads of experience.

| Huby is a class act Eastern. Jury out on the Wood and Grix signings, they are OK as back up and seem to be setting a good example in training.

What a dreadfull post. The term deadwood is pathetic beyond belief from a Trinity fan as it's been the deadwood and not the superstar Aussies you wet yourself over who save this club year on year.
Are you seriously suggesting that Hudds on paper at least were a way not better squad than their league position suggested and had some great players who underperformed Huby being one. Yet strangely you don't mention Allgood who was part of a relegated team but the you do suffer from Aussie blindness.
By far your worst post ever imho fwiw

Don't agree about Wood. I've ploughed through YouTube (ask your kids what that is) and have come to the conclusion that he is one of the most under rated players in SL and that includes when he was with us.
He's way smarter than Miller but nearly as quick and he's more reliable than Moore though not as good.
FWIW I reckon if we get the best from Wood he will be a very key player. He's only 28 I think so peak year really.

I detest Hudds but for the life of me I don,t get this sniffy attitude that they are a basement club. One bad season does not make them a basement club nor diminish the obvious quality they possess.
Don't want to burst your bubble but you allegedly support the ultimate basement club -that's us - not Hudds.
