At least there was some creativity (to a point) with Pearson, a well past it Davis, Hudson and Poching. There's just nothing in this side, or if there is, they aren't being allowed to show it.

| JK sacked ???....well JT when Glover told him 'we will not renew your contract' thats 'sacked' !
I see Kear in an italian i go to at newmillerdam a lot and he's enough of a gent to help Glover put a spin on it...... he's a nice bloke..... and its typical of him to leave in that manner and go along with a club announcement..... but all the idiots that are berating him on here might change their minds next season when some coach blows your money ....
You might end up higher up the league but as at Huddersfield now expectation brings more disapointment.... 9th may be seen as failure... just look at our boards theres a lot of disapointment and we're still 4th.... and could yet finish 3rd with an end of season run....
but not many went to fartown in the seventies like me when we were the 'whipping boys' they don''t realise how far we have come..... and how long it has taken.... so patience is the order of the day.... trust me !! I know !!

No his contract hasn't been renewed.
Kear has been looking to get away for the last year or so so I think the parting is very much mutual.

So does that apply to players too?
Not renewing a contract is not the same as a sacking, if it were the employment tribunals would be backed up with cases of employees suing for wrongful dismissal after a contract ended and wasn't renewed.
This is what a dismissal (sacking) reads like in the papers
www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyl ... -rout.html
And this is what not renewing a contract reads like

| It was just poo, shocking from start to finish. They wasnt much cop but they at least threw the ball about a bit. Good old JK with his double interchange after they scored basically from the kick off......
It comes to something when Jeremy Smith is your stand out player...... You would have guessed that the majority are playing for contracts, unless they aren't of course.
How ironic that a club with a fan base that was (this time last week) utterly against franchising has a fair chance of finishing bottom of the ladder and being saved from the drop by it. A few posters likely to have egg on their faces given their attitude towards certain clubs if this does happen.

| Crusaders played well i thought they had a lot of fire and threw the ball about even though the ball ended up on the floor a lot they still ran riot on us simply because they gambled with throwing it about. We only looked like scoring twice. The attacking was the most boring this season, this comes down to one of two things either the coaching side and training drills or (which I think is truely the problem) we have no generals on that pitch that can take charge, shout orders and tell other players what they want to happen with the ball etc, so why are we paying players like smith who can only do something once in 80 minutes, I've seen more exciting play in under 9's games. there must be someone out of contract that can do more with a rugby ball than our current half backs

Both showing OOC according to the thread elsewhere - these 2 need to be targets I reckon, along with for starters:
Andy Coley
John Clarke
Stefan Marsh

Rumour only as far as I can tell, but it could be a done deal and not announced. Either way, we need to be exploring this sort of option.

No its not sacked, its not having his contract renewed.Kear also makes comment about been here long enough after 5 years.
Why are they idiots?Having an opinion on his methods doesnt make them idiots.
Has Kear never blown money? You obviously have never seen Jeremy Smith/Jarred Hickey to name but a couple.
You might end up higher up the league but as at Huddersfield now expectation brings more disapointment.... 9th may be seen as failure... just look at our boards theres a lot of disapointment and we're still 4th.... and could yet finish 3rd with an end of season run....
With the wooden spoon in sight,we cant really go much lower in the league.
but not many went to fartown in the seventies like me when we were the 'whipping boys' they don''t realise how far we have come..... and how long it has taken.... so patience is the order of the day.... trust me !! I know !!
Im pleased you went to Fartown in the 70s.
And youve been patient for 30/40 YEARS!!!!!
Your comments been based on a chance meeting in Pizza Hut with Kear, excuse me if i dont trust you

I like Thomas Bosc, but isn't the poor bloke basically crocked? I could've sworn I heard somewhere that he's been playing on injections for the past year or so. If he's fit again, he'd be worth a punt - we will need some Gallic flair with Rinaldi on his way out and I'm sure that Bosc could be persuaded to grow a beard.
I don't like Coley but I'd probably like him more if he was smashing peoples heads in for us instead of Wigan.
Both would be decent signing for WTW in my view.

Coley and Pryce definitely, not seen much of Marsh and i'd be concerned about Bosc's and Clarke's fitness. If they are up to it then definitely.
Other than that the Lower Titty rumours are promising he's not too dissimilar to the Great Fat Man himself.

| Kear was told on Thursday last that his contract would not be renewed. He may well be in charge of team selction but if the only squad he can afford to assemble is basically second-rate - because the club has no money to give to him for better players - he can hardly be blamed for choosing these players, can he?

They should still be able to do some set moves, a dummy runner now and then would be nice!

Few have blamed him for the players at his disposal.
Its been the tactics(or lack of),coupled with the lack of attacking or defensive structures he has been critisized for.
