| Quote: asmadasa "If some of the above is true I'd expect a press release within the next week or so possibly...unusual though as MC said in Yorkshire Radio interview that no quota spots left and would have to look for 'English, French or even Russian prop'....
It's a real shame that Anthony Tupou couldn't take over from where Ali Lauitiiti left off but as already said physically he appears to have some sort of serious hip injury issue walking with a permanent limp.
As it turned out big Ali played second grade at New Zealand Warriors last season and Tupou showed only glimpses of what he could do with ball in hand although defensively he always appeared very strong. His try at home to Catalan coming off the bench when the team were down 0
Yes it was MC's comments about Quota spots that had me thinking that he must be stopping after all because just the day before Allgood was as good as signed. I was told a couple of weeks ago that Tupou wasn't coming back but you just never know for certain till it happens.

| Quote: FickleFingerOfFate "We've never been that lucky with big name signings.
Laurie Daley, Mark Graham, Steve Ella, Brent Todd, these are some I can think off the top of my head.
We seem to get better value out of 'lesser' players.
Heard Fensom is back in the picture.'"
Nowt wrong with Steve Ella, that try at Fev away Boxing Day was worth his fee alone.

Tupou was in the Smokehouse diner last night with Jake Miller, Fifita and a few others. Guess he will start training Monday?

| League Express front page says "Huddersfield prop in shock switch". Maybe Huby?

Ella was probably the best but still crocked and we didn't see the best of him consistently.
As for Fev Boxing Day, yep, that was great and I have the picture from the Wakey Express, with him scoring and Mally and Johnny T in the background!

| Ella injured his shoulder playing for us however during the period he did he gave 100% to the club. His try at Hull will live long in the memory of those that were there.

Yep, I was there then.
Not saying Ella didn't give 100%, my initial point being, that when we bring a big name player over, there is always a fly in the ointment.

| Ella was a great player for us, and the following season we had Ray Price.
Overall though, we havent had the best of luck. Anyone remember a half back that came. Think he lasted one game, was it Paul Taylor.
I dont mind overseas players overall, but think for the success of our sport nationally and internationally, there is too many and we have a quantity over quality issue.
Back in the days of Steve Ella, I think you were allowed 3.

Perhaps he's switching to half-back.

Taylor didn't even last a game, think he went off injured after 20 minutes if I remember right.
Didn't we have Ella, Mark Graham and Brent Todd at the start of that season?

| I think we had Ella, Graham and Todd 88-89 and Taylor came 89-90 but was only 16-17 at that point and discovered beer, wine and whisky since, so memory not quite as clear these years on.

I think we had James Leuluai also in 88/89.
