Give us a game that might bring us some glory and our record over the past forty years has been truly abysmal. I may be wrong but we have only won once, the YC and that’s our only other final appearance as well. Two CCup semis, one of which was embarrassing. That’s it, it’s not like we have a recent history of success.
Bradford do, and although they are a shadow of what they were they at least have a culture of winning these kinds of games.
As a club we need to get back into the zone and actually get a hunger back for success, even modest success in this case.
If people think we are over that clitch think again. I know the weather played a biggish part but let’s be honest the CCup game against Fev was the one we seemed least prepared for this season. I don’t think anyone can deny that they were more up for it on the day. And that is typical of the last forty years.
Still, it will change eventually, so why not on Sunday, fingers crossed.
PS
They didn't win the 2015 Million Pound Game

Ahh, but I covered that. We are brilliant at do or die relegation tussles. What we are crap at is raising our game when we are at the pleasurable end of the spectrum. You’d think it would be easier to raise your game for glory rather than the pressure of survival, but we never seem to.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if we don’t turn up on Sunday, I’m hoping Powell has the skill to prevent this, but for now seeing is believing.

| I reckon we'll score enough IMG points without the 1895 Cup...so, I propose that we lose this weekend, let Bulls win the 1895 Cup, therefore we replace London, and Bulls may have enough points to replace Cas.
Oh, how we would laugh.

Just watched Cas lose this evening, it was very enjoyable

| I'm now quite sure that our Championship squad is better than their SL squad.
Not only that, our squad will be strengthened, theirs is only weakening.
I'm not convinced they will be in SL next year.

PS
You've posted some absolute rubbish over the years but this up there with the worst. If you genuinely believe the 2008 Challenge Cup semi final will have any influence on the result this weekend then you've lost the plot!
You talk about recent history and being the best at relegation deciders, yet the most recent relegation decider we were involved in we lost! If we lose on Sunday it's because we haven't played well enough, nothing else.

That second half performance of Cas had the classic hallmarks of a clogger conditioned squad.

We saw some "interesting" performances last season, but I don't think we had one as bad as that tbf......

I've only watched the highlights but it all looked very familiar.

Agree, I never get the history thing, there's just nothing in it, it's just nonsense. New ownership, new coach, new players come and people still cling onto this idea that there is something in the fact certain clubs have this 'history' of winning or losing games.

| Regarding Cas not been in super league. Personally I want them to be there and in reality it will just be a straight swap us for London. Wouldn't you want to see our team playing them currently? Rather be in same league and beat them consistently if I'm honest.

I agree. The common denominator is always the supporters and they create a narrative that just isn't there.
The reality is, when a team has a run of wins like Cas did with us, they were just a better club at that time, in terms of money and recruitment.
Certain styles suit teams but that really only lasts a season.

Tbf, with injuries, players out of position and against Saints, who were desperate to bounce back, they were always going to get beaten, especially when the numbers were evened up.
However, they did lose their heads.
They will be happy that London are in SL this season.
KR seem to have picked up our better players over the past couple of seasons but Cas looked awful.

Is Clogger at Cas? Or was it just comparison of teams?
