We've not seen where Bain will line up yet. Also, wasn't Boothroyd named in second row before his injury

Boothroyd is SR. Bain is a LF/Prop. Rodwell LF/Prop. Vagana also LF/Prop.

Vagana looked a bit out of sorts at SR but he certainly looks the business at prop. I’m really not a fan of playing players out of their natural positions except in emergency. If we need a SR we find a SR, if we need a centre we find a centre etc.

We have a formidable middle unit with some rotation wiggle room now though and some of our forwards really do look to have engines on them.

Storton could be one SR option but I’m sure there will be others out there.

I think we are well covered in the pack, centre is the position that is crying out for strengthening in my opinion

Having a big, powerful pack that would potentially dominate the opposition could hide where we are slightly weaker in other positions. Being dominant, and beating teams physically down the middle will present so many chances as we go on this season.

The corner stone of any great team is the pack , get that rolling forwards and opportunities will arise for the backs to be creative and play some expansive rugby . Get a 1-6 of the best available and they would struggle behind a beaten pack . As rightly said our forwards power speaks for itself, now Powell’s next big job is to get a back line capable of taking those opportunities that the pack will present them . Some tough choices to be made , some I suspect will not go down favourably with fans , but we must have the best available for said position , no room for sentimentality. Some like Jerry and Gale will step down I’m sure whilst others may move on or drop down the pecking order . But the bottom line is our coach will see this season who has got it and who doesn’t cut the mustard ,because if we get the green light for next season we better hit the ground running ,because there will be no place to hide or easy games ,every game will be brutal

Quote: AgbriggAmbler "The way our pack is playing we'll be fighting to keep them rather than wondering how to trim the numbers. Our forwards outmuscled Wigan and look a damned sight tougher than a good number of SL sides. After a season in the Championship building up their partnerships I think they'll be more than SL ready.'"

If we make S L the owner as said, if a player leaves it will not be because he is going for more money

With the signing of Rodwell meaning we have 8 Quota players and the rule being 7, is there any possibility of "pulling a Leigh" and try claim Isaiah Vagana played his junior rugby in Bradford whilst his dad was over here? Otherwise we're gonna be losing one of them. My money is on either Bain or Boothroyd though I wouldn't want to lose either.

As PT says there’s no limit in championship. The club has a season to find out what’s best. No need to start thinking about such things now before barely any matches have been played.

I thought the poster was talking about if we return to SL, hence the doing a Leigh, as they returned with 8 quota players.

I think we will see a lot change in the squad towards the back end of the season anyway, alot of overseas players have been signed on 2 year deals but there could be all sorts of clauses when it comes to what league that is in. I would imagine we will see lots of comings and goings should we be promoted so they won't be worrying about been over the quota at this point.

Really looking forward to seeing how he gets on. Be interesting to see if we play him in the front row or back row/13.

I think Rodwell is the playerPowell has wanted from the start. Of our 80 minute forwards, Pitts and Ashurst have limited games left in them. I’m not sure about Cozza, Bain maybe, ditto Boothroyd.

Imo we deffo need an extra engine in the middle, a Kirmo style player. Think this guy will rip up the Chamionshp and will make the step up to SL.

Rodwell appears to have an engine on him. You have to find the balance between having forwards with an engine and having forwards with size and the ability to punch holes in lines and offload. Time will tell if we got it right for this season.

I do think the signing of Rodwell is due to the new rules next season. No tackling above chest means that larger less mobile forwards will hugely struggle next season imo.
