Thought with exception of johnstone miller was our best attacking player - agree he put a few hospital passes in but great effort - Lino looks like he could be good.
Difference between the sides was Brad Dwyer and the ref !

I agree and he looked done with 20 left

| Lot of positive, for me .We have started playing rugby ,We made plenty of chances even though we did not have a lot of the ball second half. Though ref did ok but Bill been penalised for not playing ball was a big call and Leeds did get the 50\50 calls .Still say we need a attacking 9 and was not impressed by the 9s in attack .Dwyer shows what we are missing .Overall work to do, but look a lot more up for it

| Trinity were OK today and have something to build on....Thought we lacked a bit of punch up front and struggled to get out of own half and understand finances are tight but hope there's an addition at prop in the near future....Our kicking on last tackle was poor and contributed to poor field positions.
Love to better understand the re start rules as thought Rhinos guilty of slowing the PTB almost as much as Trinity but weren't penalised once. Tough penalty on Tupou at PTB should have been play on!
Pass at the end to Senior was not forward...
Hopefully Battye, Kyle Wood, Hampshire and Jowitt will be fit for the next match and no injuries to today's players....
Up the Trin..

| Same old same old. Too many players with half a brain cell. Mistakes, penalties, wrong options all of which are not instructions from the coaching staff.

Agree that we struggled to get out of our own half (at times out of our own 20), but hopefully Battye will help in that respect. Another area I feel that we were weak again was in the opposition 20, not creative enough.

In comparison to what I saw last season it was tremendous. We worked spaces in attack which was one of my main gripes last season. I thought Fifita played well I suppose it depends on your view.
With regards the second half we created several chances, the problem was we did not take them.

| Can't blame the ref for that defeat but we sure got some odd decisions against us. The pass from Lynne was in no way forward, the penalty against Bill when Prior was just standing there was bizarre and he gave a knock on against Bill when he'd clearly knocked the ball backwards. OK - easy to criticise from the sofa but all seemed a bit harsh to me. Apart from that we just need some more firepower in the forwards, better last tackle plays, tighter defence, more options running off Lino and we'll be fine!!!!

| Loads of positives to take from the game. Our edge attack looks very potent and should have led to 2 more trys. Big Dave played well in defence and attack; the offload he got away to Tangata was brilliant. We missed the punch in the middle that Eddie and Kyle Wood would provide.
Lino had an excellent first game. His quick distribution, whilst attacking the line before passing, freed up Miller and others. Good goal kicking. Our kicking on the last was difficult because we kept having to kick within our 40 (after strong Leeds defence). So it is hard to judge him on that.
Obviously I'm gutted we didn't manage to win the game, but I'm happier with the performance than I thought I would be.

| I haven’t missed this feeling, so close yet so far. One major positive is that we showed some will going forward throughout the majority of the game, something that last year wouldn’t appear until the 65th minute.
Hoping some silly errors can be ironed out and Bill learns how to dummy when he’s 3 on 1 with the fullback
Hard one to swallow as no points to show for anything but we go again I guess.

I agree with this..
If we had been able to bend their line a bit more up the middle we would have created a lot more space out wide to beat Leeds.
A speedy nine would off done this.
at 16 -4 and on their line the last option where crowther got caught in possession and the forward pass I thought we had Leeds on back foot.
Milkys penalty there after got Leeds out of jail and on front foot.
More positives for me than negatives though..

| Quote: Big lads mate "We should have had many restarts, what the ref is seeing is behold me.'"
I disagree - I thought he was having a very good game and not constantly whistling, my issue is he then started to give them restarts and not us when they wasn't any difference really or barely anyway. He should have carried on as he was - not giving them because neither team were taking the p*** at the ruck. So much better when they don't get infatuated with the play the ball and have a massive impact on the game.
