| Quote: Slugger McBatt "From seeing Toupou on the wing, it does seem to make more sense to play a natural winger rather than a centre. Kershaw isn't as good a winger as BJB or Johnstone, but he's probably a better winger than Lynn or Toupou, unless there's something we don't see in training sessions.
As we have seen with Kelepi, it is perhaps better to play someone in their natural position even if it means playing a less favoured player in their natural position. Whether Kelepi is as good a prop as a prop lower down the pecking order is a moot point, but it is obvious that Kelepi isn't as good at being Kelepi when he plays prop. The same must go for Bill and Reece and Atkins.'"
I get your point but I'm not convinced by Kershaw at all, he seems a real rocks and diamonds type player. Scores a 90m worldy one week then cant catch cold and gets bombed all day the next week.
Tupou outside Lyne and Atkins inside Johnstone for me. That edge of ashurst, tupou, TJ just isnt getting the same joy it was getting 12 months ago

To be fair to Atkins at HKR he was playing out of his position and got little if no help from his inside men .Imo whilst the team is trying to settle into some sort of rhythm his wealth of experience will only add to the stability of the team ,provided he is played in the correct position. Kershaw’s time will come as will all the youngsters this season,I’m sure .

| Hopefully I’ll be going to see a rugby match, and not another “Me Me Me” display from the official.

Dont know too much about "playing out of position, Atkins and Lyne have both played on the wing enough times to know what is required.
It just seemed like there was either a lack of understanding between them or, that one or both were unhappy about where they were playing.
At the Huddersfield friendly, my reading of it was that Atkins just didn't want to be on the wing. I may be wrong but, the same seemed to be the case at KR.
I guess only the players know exactly what was going on but, it cost us, especially when we were defending.

How very out of touch you are ??
The main criticism of him is that he doesn't put his wingman away often enough.
However, against Cas, compared to any of our threequarters, he made most metres, most tackles, most tackle busts, most carries.
I know that he didn't get on the scoresheet but, you need to pat a bit more attention.

Atkins played on the wing which was a terrible decision. He's too slow and was all at sea on kicks. Play Kershaw. Keep people in position, Atkins as sub

There's the thing, he would be a waste of a bench spot
We're better served with a second row that can fill in at centre, than a centre who will most likely have to cover second row.
If it was Batch or Atkins on the bench, I'd go for Batch every time.
I think that we either put Tupou on the wing with Lyne as his centre, with Atkins inside Johnston or, probably go with young Kershaw.
I'm glad that Chester has to make these calls and not me.
It will be interesting to see which of our forwards return - Fifita, Arona, Green and/or King ?
Certainly, when they are all fit, there will be some selection headaches there.

Chezzie says in this weeks Wakey Express that Green, King, Walker and Crowther are all back in this week, Arona isn't and he doesn't yet know on Fifita and Brough.
