| The Council seem to be pretty involved with recent events considering, to quote Peter Box: "It's got nothing to do with the Council".
Listen only to what comes from the mouths of MC, the CEO or The Trust. A for Councillor Jeffries, she has and always did, speak with forked tongue.

| I'm not normally a cynic but it's interesting that the council has "given" us this facility just as things are looking good for Cas's new ground. I've always thought that if we were going to be dependent on the council then we could not be "ahead" of Cas and get a ground before them or get a better ground than them. I'm not knocking the "loan" or however the funding will work but it's an interesting timing.

| You have been knocking the council for lack of support but now they do confirmed by our chairman some of you just won’t accept it. We have a chance to move forward at Belle Vue be happy I know many of you are glass half empty but this is the first positive news regarding the ground in quite a few years.
If our chief exec could post something it would at least put many minds at rest, not all but I doubt these would ever be happy.

| No. You've got me wrong. I'm not knocking. I think it's really positive and like you I await MC's statement which I'm sure won't be long in coming. For whatever reason (and there may be many) the council now wants to do something. All I was saying was that the timing was interesting.

| Quote: bren2k "No argument with any of that - but it has no bearing on what I posted; the only one coming out of this with any glory is Mr Carter, who's done right by this club at every opportunity. We've still been conned though, and YCP and 88M will make a killing.'"
Wasn't aimed at you personally Bren. You're a good, positive fan. I've seen a few fans dissilusioned with the news through previous frustrations. Which is understandable with the heartache and lies we've endured. I agree with those whose conned us. (This not at you either Bren) For the avoidance of doubt my initial post wasn't against previous owners, it was firmly at YCP, people within the council and new trust... They know who they are...

| I think with all the let down we have had in the past there are going to be doubters.
For me its a positive step with an air of caution.

| Very positive step, Belle Vue is our spiritual home and in my opinion building a fit for purpose stadium to meet our needs and take us to the next level is achievable with the people now involved with the club. Interesting to see what plans we have and how quickly work will commence.

| Sorry glass half empty on this latest council grand announcement. We need to see the finalised fine detail before declaring it as great news. I know we have good people working hard to secure the best they can for the club but too many unanswered questions at this stage for me.

| The silence from Belle Vue is deafening, no response from any official source, Club or Trust. This is a pre-emptive strike by Box and the council publicity machine to put pressure on MC to accept whats on offer. I'll wait until I here from the Club before I celebrate .

Do you keep a list?! And I'm not always - last Sunday being the most recent example.
For the avoidance of doubt - I think that, much like Brexit, this is a crap deal - but it was probably the only deal on the table, so MC and the Trust have voted for it, probably out of pragmatism.
I'm deeply disappointed that what was originally promised, and mandated by the SoS, will never be delivered; I'm also furious that several parties will make massive amounts of money out of that failure, and that those monied individuals have joined forces to rob the people of Wakefield of a genuine community facility whilst further enriching themselves; but I guess that's how society works - those with throw scraps to those without, and those without are expected to be happy and grateful for the magnanimity.

| Did the council not block the development by Yorkcourt despite the legal advice. This is a brave move for any council with the country in the mess it is.

John Minards has made a statement, basically thanking the council whilst acknowledging it's early days with more work going on regarding the redevelopment.
MC was still talking about the developer stumping up during the interview he gave on 'by the balls'.
