| According to the Planning Portal the Determination Deadline for Application 17/03102/REM is Fri 02 March 2018, however as yet no decision has been made.
Is this WMDC once again employing delaying tactics by deliberately ignoring deadlines, or is there something else going on?

Devoid of the community stadium promised at the public inquiry!

Not that we know what the actions are!

| It's all just background noise now - the various parties are on manoeuvres ensuring that, as Slugger says, they can make an offer that has all the appropriate optics from a PR perspective, but is untenable for the club; the club duly refuses, they throw their hands in the air and say, "We tried our best!" then 88M has free rein to do something much more profitable at BV, YCP can continue to develop NM without the annoyance of WT getting in the way, and WMDC can demonstrate that they weren't the villains.
Quite what SRW stands to gain from all this I'm not sure, but it seems clear that his replacement Trust is complicit, so there'll be something in the background to have greased that particular wheel.
The upshot - no stadium.

| I've actually lost all interest to be honest - Its like a 15 year game of Chinese whispers.
I think the only place the stadium hasn't been drawn up on is my back garden.
That said we have assembled the best team in our Super League existence which means its a good time to be a Trinity fan.
I just wish the people of Wakefield would show interest, will a new stadium be the difference? Who knows..

| I still have hope our City gets a Community Stadium that us and future generations can enjoy sport. Still think it will happen in some form it has to, or it will be the end of our club. Regarding that Email has this new trust even been set up yet?

Perhaps that's the desired outcome for some.

It that was the case it would all come out eventually. I think Belle Vue will get a new community stadium on it just not the deal we had for Newmarket, need to get best deal we can get or the best out of a bad deal.

Although it may well/could 'come out eventually', it would be too late. Wakefield Trinity would be consigned to history

| "The Service Director with a responsibility for Sport"?????? What sport???? There's no sport left in Wakefield!!! Just a load of Box inspired meaningless rhetoric. As for a Community Trust, We have one!

| So how's this all gonna end? Assuming (stupidly) that a new ground does get built on BV, and a new trust is formed. How does this dovetail with the club? Would the new trust oversee the day to day running of the stadium? Would they attempt to buy the club off CB and MC? How could the new trust be formed? Is this just a way of forcing the old trust out? Could we see a scenario of a shiny new stadium with Trinity walking away to play at Dewsbury? You would imagine the anchor tenant would have to be signed and in place before the build could begin?
I'm guessing this is the scenario that the council, Yorkcourt etc are hoping for, Trinity take their bat home, no anchor tenant signed up, Trinity are the bad boys in this, finally depriving the good people of Wakefield of sports facilities. WMDC tried, it's not our fault they'd cry.

| WMDC must be one of the worst run councils for taking guaranteed community sporting facilities and turning the following developments into a farce.

Or a theory could be that as Trinity would obviously turn down the (unaffordable) opportunity a smaller, cheaper, facility would be built suiting a different anchor tennant yet still providing the council with the rhetoric of community facilities having been provided whilst also meaning any Sport England objections would be suppressed. Yorkcourts contribution to the project would cover their backsides and Newmarket is all theirs to develop as they wish. And a smaller build means more space for the owner of BV to develop and as such more profit for them. Then given the ‘successful’ working partnership then maybe other projects between the parties may just take place in the district. Everyone’s a winner. Execept the club obviously who will be in Dewsbury by then.
