Cost of club car & damage to other cars the morons hit as insurance will be null & void as driver refused a breath test & blood sample.
Plus probable loss of a club sponsor who provided car.

That's a stretch!
Company cars will be leased, so they'll be covered by insurance - and I don't see how a club sponsor will be lost? If a sponsor provides a car, s/he most likely does so by meeting the cost of the lease and having their name plastered on the side in return - I'm pretty sure they don't buy an actual car.
In short, I really don't see that the savings in rent for BV will be dented in any meaningful way by this unfortunate incident.

Awful to non-existent public transport links, especially on a Sunday! There'd need to be a lot of work done with Arriva and friends to sort that out. One thing going for Belle Vue is the number of buses that go by, and two train stations close.

Leased or not insurance is invalidated when it involves drink driving or refusing to give breath/blood sample.
Check who provided car as they are a club sponsor & will probably pull out of sponsorship stuffing other players who use their cars & putting a dent is club's finances.
Plus cost of 3 cars that were damaged in the mayhem.

I cannot foresee how the club will be forced to pick up the bill for this.
The cars may have been loaned by a Sponsor but the insurance that you say will be null and void will surely be individual person’s policy and not the clubs. The vehicle is hardly a works vehicle as they are not driving during the course of their employment.
Anyhow the club will hardly be vicariously liable for the twits as they have gone off on a frolic of their own. I.e. drink driving is not something that’s encouraged by the club.
I would imagine it’s the individuals involved and responsible who will be looking at a hefty bill and not the club.

As with all out of town venues I'm sure there will be public transport on matchdays.
As it stands a few beers in Stanley and then jump on the 446 to the end of the road will suit a lot of people

I quite like the idea of [ivicious[/i liability - it sounds like much more fun than vicarious liability, which is positively tame in comparison!
I think you're right though, and our friend BBG is being a little OTT in his assessment of the financial impact of this particular frolic; if it nets off the rent saving at BV for example, I'll attend the million pound match in my budgie smugglers.

| With regards public transport, when the whole NM thing came about wasn't there talk of improved public transport on match days??
With it been a community stadium, with plans for various activities taking place there, i would think it may well be in Arrivas interest to improve the service from what is currently on offer.
Bit of a shame they don't offer a service to Brough!

| The vehicle will hold compulsory insurance which one presumes will be on a comprehensive basis. This type of policy covers theft however it will probably include a clause removing this section if the keys were in or on the vehicle at the time of loss. I presume the keys were not locked away so accessible to the thief so technically this clause will apply.
The insurer in most cases will deal with any third party property damage or injury claims but will retain the right to pursue the recovery of their losses from the person deemed responsible. With regards the damage to the car this is not covered but once again an insurer will consider providing indemnity if the insured agrees to the prosecution against the responsible person.
I doubt therefore that the club will be hit financially by this incident, the same could not be said for the one the Police prosecute, if they do.
