| Quote: Brian Briggs Ghost "It is quite simple the players. Even if they don't rate the coach they should be professional & do what they are paid to which is to play to Super League standard which they are not.'"
Correct answer, and as i said on the other thread loyal fans have paid their wages and expect them to be proffesional and play to their best abilities week in week out regardless of other issues.

This is the problem players rely too much on coaches. At this level they should be intelligent enough & know enough about the game to fill gaps.
I bet most of the players can't spell loyal never mind know what it means.

| Quote: Big lads mate "James Webster believed in Jordan and gave him a shot at super league which is why I will always be grateful to him, also spoke to me Several times during his development.6 top flight appearances at 2nd row and still 18yrs old so I think you can tell I wasn't one for him to go.Sorry if this as been done earlier in the thread but I've just got back from France where Jordan and Max represented their country whilst playing for Wakey Trin, yes Wakefield,so something must be working down at BV.If every body got finished when they failed at work then half of you lot on here would be sat on a park bench. As you've gathered I have got a lot of time for JW and Stu Dickens and I wish all the best for James and his young family for the future.'"
I'd heard this from another source too.
Compared to Agar's knock them down and build them up style, Webster was a breath of fresh air for the juniors.
The problem is, that's not is whole job. When things were going wrong on the field, he was finding it hard to find a solution.
I was really hoping he could turn it round when the other players came back from injury but Hull KR killed it for me.
He didn't have to win but needed a change and it didn't happen.
Leigh could have saved him if we'd kicked on at half time but to Leigh's credit they forced a lot of that themselves.
It's a shame as we have lost something with him going, but the bigger priority was the fix the first team on field, and that wasn't him.

| The first thing to do is recall all players and start from scratch, pick a team based on form rather than reputation.

Think Webster may not have had the whole of the 'changing room' possibly with Carter saying we need to re-focus on in it together and players can leave statement.

Also sadly true. Kirmond has been a shadow of the player he was 2 years ago. New Coach...New Captain..

You talk a lot of sense Poptart but this is one thing I disagree with. There seems to be effort in short bursts but there is no sustained intensity.
Our line speed in general is so slow (examples see the Leigh try from the chip, or the break made by their No 20 right at the start of the second half) and the defence on our own line is so paper-thin its a joke and it has been like this for a number of weeks.
This could be down to either:
poor conditioning
poor attitude
lack of leadership
Poor options in attack leaving us doing too much defending
Whichever combination of these it is a really poor sign. I have seen us get beat before but have really tried, this last 10+ weeks has been different - we have been pretty dumb in our play but also far too easy to walk all over. Once a half decent team is in our 20 it seems a foregone conclusion they will eventually score unless they make a fundamental mistake. I think there is a lack if hunger from the players and the first sign of this shows in defensive attitude.
Something has looked wrong from the inside to me.

Nah, he's more likely to end up at Leigh when Rowley leaves at the end of this season.

| I hope Webster does get the appointment which seems likely.
He was out of his depth as our Head Coach but as assistant is about right. I wish him well.

| Yes he did the honourable thing and resigned saving the club money so I am glad he has found alternative employment. I am not sure what he could learn from Radford because to be honest I think Webster as been in coaching for a longer period.

| I'm pleased if he has a job.... I think he can do better though.
Ironically, the best job would have been as Smith's assistant imho
