| Quote: PopTart "The thing that bothers me with threads like this is that they are so reactive.
I have no out and out love for Agar. If we get someone else I'm ok with that.
BUT we can't just keep asking for their head every time we play badly.
It isn't so black and white.
The very fact that the opening poster has only been posting Agar out threads since the start of the season, but has been completely quiet when we won a couple shows that some have a blind spot against Agar, as much as those that like him have a blind spot the other way.
I'm still of the mind that I want Agar to keep going and see what he can do.
We have a tough period of fixtures coming up so unfortunately we need to be ready for more losses. We need to improve but I won't want to just sack Agar if we don't beat Leeds twice.....I might if he just keeps randomly changing the team!'"
There were plenty if proactive ‘Agar out’ threads before he came to the club. Sadly they were ignored and Elston hired his mate regardless. I will not want to see a change based on the losses to Leeds, Huddersfield or Cas, it is more to do with the poor performances and results (bar the odd run here and there) over the last two and a bit seasons, the shoddy treatment of the club trained players (and other players whose face did not fit) and the failure to learn from the numerous mistakes he makes in team selection and tactics.
Having said that he is more bullet proof now more than ever so we won’t see a change unless Trinity are relegated and he leaves of his own accord.

| Quote: Fordy "The same position points wise - we won 2 from our first 7 in 2012.
Round 1 - Widnes (A) - Won 32-14
Round 2 - Hull KR (H) - Lost 22-10
Round 3 - Leeds (H) - Called Off
Round 4 - Bradford (H) - Lost 36-18
Round 5 - Hull FC (A) - Lost 14-10
Round 6 - Huddersfield (H) - Lost 32-14
Round 7 - Warrington (A) - Lost 32-30
Round 8 - Catalans (H) - Won 32-22
I would expect the performances to improve as we get further into the season and the team has more time to gel, however we looked like we were starting to see that with 2 good wins (admittedly against poor opposition) followed up by a good performance against the league leaders where the ref had a huge say in the result.
To go from that to this abject display is shockingly disappointing and with Leeds, Cas and Huddersfield our next 3 games (not counting a Cup game against Leeds too) we would need to see a huge reaction from yesterdays defeat to not be 2 from 10 and our season in tatters and with relegation looming.'"
They won't "gel" if he keeps shuffling the cards, its one out one in and let the rest "gel"

| Don't like to mention the R word but don't think this would save us, as what other club would have him?
Also can't see him walking away from a contract unless it's written into it, if the worse should happen.

Can't disagree with that. Unless we had major injuries yesterday that we don't know about then it was one of the most bizarre coaching decisions ever made.
I think if I look at his reign you would say our best results/runs come when we have limited options and it means he can't shuffle things too much.
I am mightily impressed with the strength and depth of squad we have managed to assemble given where we were, but it seems that may have created problems in itself, as Agar doesn't know best how to manage the squad, or who should be in his first choice team.
It's a shame the fans forum was last week and not this as we might have got some more interesting questions asked.

| I think most fans would be happy with Mr Agar if we were in with a chance of winning games to the last most weeks instead of now and again. The facts are we nearly beat Sts last week and look a decent side then walloped by 44 at Hull KR the week after when looking in good form. Win loss loss loss win loss loss win win loss loss etc etc. The only consistency is inconsistency apart from the tail end of his first season in charge. The natives are getting restless and if this continues then people are gonna get even more fed up and stop coming. Even me, a die hard supporter for 40 years plus my dad and boy are getting sick of it week after week, same old excuses, same old tries conceded, same old hope one week and down to earth the next, it drives you up the blinking wall! I don't buy into this let's give him time and see what he can do nonsense either, this is his third season... how long has Powell been at Cas? Moulded a side and they're getting CONSISTENT results. It may not last but I'll put my house on a top 8 finish for them and a bottom 3 for us, that's what a good coach can do, and I don't believe that is what we have.

| I hope all the pro agar mob come on here to explain his experiment now!Whats he gonna do next week go back to the team that played so well against saints? If that dosen't work shall we get some more loan players, the man is clueless and must have demotivated the lads who played against saints. The thing i am glad about tho is now he's farmed out all the young lads then there's only his players left so c'mon agar show us what you've got cos the squad is now all yours, and it's a good one so earn your money and coach or turn the light off when you leave.

| This continues and more fans will say stuff it I aint going to watch that that's for sure. Some one said to me yesterday at half time "we are our own worst enemies Les" heavens above the amount of times we have both said that under Agar.
I could take a defeat like that if every player had given it his all and put his body on the line but yesterdays effort was very poor.If those people who have been at the ground doing the mods had put the same effort in nothing much would have got done and the players could take a lesson from that as those people were not paid for doing it. It don't say much for a coach when after 2 good wins and a very close game against Saints that he wants to experiment. He wont quit that's for sure so some one needs to have a very long hard word in his ear and that aint us fans.

| Why on Earth would you change the team around after 2 massive wins and nearly beating the top of the League? Daniel Smith been brilliant everygame what grounds would you drop him? Washbrook been appauling for 2 years. I ain't Mathers biggest fan why drop him when he scored 4 tries the other week. His judgement this week was moronic at the best.

I thought that straight after the game yesterday. There are fans busting a gut to inprove the stadium, and chairman working wonders to get the books sorted.
Then we have Agar farting in their faces by slowly destroying the club from within.

I'm fine with dropping a player who isn't performing to standard; it's what needs to happen. What didn't need to happen though was breaking our nascent half-back partnership to accommodate it.
I'm also baffled as to why Washbrook was a shoe-in, causing yet more re-shuffling, when our pack has looked so good without him.
Experiment away on the training field - but don't cost me £40 and a Sunday afternoon to watch it.

Wouldn't say I've busted a gut....like some definitely have...but i've given 17 hours the last two Saturdays.....
To be honest I'm as disappointed in the players as I am Agar.....if every one of the players had given even 75% of the effort that Snowie and his team have given over the last month or so we would have won 44-6.....
To me, a few of the changes made sense pre-game.....I could see where they were coming from.....he can do no more than admit to getting it wrong, and question what went wrong in terms of build up to the game....effort from players in the game etc.....
How to judge now is to see how we react in the coming weeks.....
We put in a shocker against Bradford.....we then went to Wigan....probably a game we were never going to win but the next 3 saw 2 wins and a good performance against the best team in the comp.....
We now need to regroup and right the wrongs.....
I dont think there is anything unusual in a bottom 4 side (which we are) throwing in a dire performance every now and again.....it happens....it has done twice already now and probably will do again.....if it starts happening every week that is the time I will really start to worry.....
Probably easier for me to have that outlook having not been able to travel over to HKR.....but as someone who has given his last two Saturday's up away from family (in tough times aswell).....I'm prepared to stick by and support all at the club at present....

| One thing I would add to what I just put....
A point made very well by TRB somewhere....and a few others.....is that I would much prefer to see us put the dire performance in against someone like a Saints instead of losing bravely....and try and find a way to put our best performances in against teams like Hull KR....Bradford etc......that is something hopefully Agar will be working on....
Home wins especially against teams like those are imperative.....any away win in all honesty (London apart) is a bonus.....

| For the life of I could not understand why play Sykes at 6 when on attack and break up what was becoming a good combination. It was noticed by most that after Washbrook went off against Catalan that our attack was a lot better.
upthecats - might not busted a gut but you put the effort in to turn up and get things moving and that's the point effort and we didn't see much of that yesterday on the field.

| I agree on both counts mate!
He tried something new....it backfired.....Agar is in the unfortunate position that had it worked and we had won the game people would still have been waiting for the next defeat....poor performance to sharpen their knives....he's conceded he made an error.....it's up to him to learn from a mistake and put it right.....
The effort of the players.....I hope we can just put down as a bad day at the office....which will happen in games.....look at Catalans against us.......it's how we react in the next 3 or 4 games that will tell us more....
Another point to note.....
Bazzo rightfully asked the question somewhere......'who is there to bring in to replace Agar?
I honestly dont think there is anyone out there at present who would do any better with what we have got......we are still a relatively new side.....for people to judge on his full stay is unfair, as he's had 2 sides ripped apart and had to start again....the last time it happened we did superbly well to get in the play-offs....
The suggested names I've seen so far I think are laughable.....just my opinion though....
