No idea whether your right or wrong but if you arent paying certain bills you have more money to spend on certain players! The club I presume get the sky money every month which goes to pay the players but not the bills?? just a theory...

Love 'em yes but very disillusioned right now. And finding it hard to keep justifying pouring money into a failing club, yeah after year, decade after decade.

We have a right to question the management, but come on, I think this is all a bit unwarranted tbh. Until we know what the situation is, best keep the powder dry. We are performing at our level atm, and had the best season in a while last year. Why always with the negative waves?

In terms of player acquisition, it is right that AG knows next to nothing. I was told from a good source that he had hardly been to a game before he bought the club. I was told something tonight that suggested we are in the usual doo-dah financially.

Strategically, I think AG is getting it right. He is building a solid base for Newmarket by getting membership numbers up and doing what they can to promote things. They can't magic the crowd numbers. What he is perhaps getting wrong is realising that everything has to be run right before Newmarket. Macron need to be paid. People who deal with the club expect to be paid.

What I was told tonight almost made me cancel my 1873 direct debit. I haven't been to many games this year due to personal commitments, but the "got to stand behind the sticks" mantra made less interested in making the trip. I give them all the benefit of the doubt at the moment, but i think it is really Newmarket or bust.

JE is a shareholder, albeit a small one but it probably makes it difficult to remove him. His track record is indeed poor.

Seems within the last few weeks a new co has been set up,"Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Ltd" with the same two owners, AG & JE.........makes you wonder what this is all about?

No doubt at all its been hard to make ends meet and thats why fans like us spend what we can to help the club in our own small way, or at least untill we feel that "together we are stronger" does not ring true

Does someone want the explain to me why we signed Nick Fozzard and Mr T when we can't pay the bills, someone who's business minded maybe could explain because it makes no sense to me.

Just why would they set up a new company, whats wrong with 1873?

In fairness, this is common practice - most businesses you deal with will actually own several registered companies; it's usually about tax efficiency, but there are any number of legitimate reasons for it to happen.

Is it common practice with RL clubs or just general business?

Surprised it wasn't registered as "James Elston and Andrew Glover Football Club Ltd".

I know this started as a positive thread but these little snippets are sounding depressing familiar. No doubt its a struggle getting money through the tills/gates with such a small supporter base, and I hold no ill will to AG, Trinity would already be in the Championship were in not for him, but I'd rather the day to day running of the club was done properly instead of mid season signing and contract extensions being made ahead of good business practise. If Trinity have to sell some of their better players to keep the club afloat so be it.

If the majority of this is true lets hope that the gamble AG may be taking works out how he wants it, as soon as Newmarket gets the go ahead the better.

Not just fozzard and tt but the new lottery manager to run the 1873 even though we still have no idea if the money from the lottery scheme is being used for junior development because the club does not seem to want to tell us.

Having read through this thread its hard to know if most of it is a load of rubbish or there should be genuine cause for concern. The supporters trust was set up to represent us at times like this and I would hope they would be meeting the club ASAP. Awkward questions need to be asked and hopefully answereed so people can get to the truth.

What we dont want is threads like this to run and run.
