I doubt if any on Wakefield's books are on the money that Gareth Ellis is being paid for sitting with his feet up.

Backwards? we finished a good 6th last season and won a playoff game, that was us going "forward" compared to the preceeding seasons. From my point of view we are very much a club that is improving both off and on the field. Your club is going to have sweat blood to go forward this season, I fear you may not make the 8 this time around (hope you do tho).

| Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "LOL, Should start calling you the Goldfish, as your memory doesn't seem to stretch that far.
I have distinct recollections of Hull finished in 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the SL era. Also reach a a number of major finals, and winning one of them during that time. I appreciate this is a foreign concept to you.
For the record, I wasn't gloating, I was correcting one of the other deluded souls on here claiming that both teams on Easter Monday had been very poor.
As for the amount of money spent, I would safely say that Hull are no where near the Cap this season
Maybe it's because Hull are one of those boring clubs that no-one is actually bothered about except their own so called fans that threatened to boycott games this season because of poor form. Something you can't blame Agar for this time.

So, are you advocating playing an injured player just because he is on decent money?

Well you seem pretty interested in continuing this threas.
What constitutes a boring club? I bet its a thrill a minute wondering of the new roof will be there after high winds, or the excitment of another sponsor going out of business. As a matter of interest did wakey pay for any of that roof or did they default like they did on the holiday flats??
Gosh, it must be so exciting being a wakey fan!

Some teams spend a lot closer to the cap than others. Please don't suggest you have a team of bargain basement players when you have a squad that boasts Ellis, Holdsworth,O'Meley, Lynch,Briscoe,Yeaman,Tickle,Mcdonell etc...
Hull has some serious financial backing from what I've read and these sort of players don't come or are retained cheaply.
Hull will be favourites but hope there is a cup shock.

Definition of boring : monotonous, tedious, irksome, tiresome, humdrum. Theses adjectives refer to what is so uninteresting as to cause mental weariness. Mr google just about sums it up.
No need to go down the road of Stadia comparison, as a preview poster states you must have a short memory.

It is, its a laugh a minute, never a dull moment and never could it be classed boring.
As a matter of interest how are Gateshead doing since the merger?

No, just comparing the value for money we've got from "journeymen" like Tim Smith in comparison to your star buy.

| Got to say I think Hull are a great club, they play out of the best ground in the League, top fans who attend away matches in big numbers, from experience I can confirm that they have the best match day stewards in the game the way they look after away fans who need assistance is first class. On the Rugby front despite many injuries their team made up of mostly second teamers and juniors managed to hand our near full strength team their backsides in a basket earlier this season. So the cup draw should be good for us as on form we will get stuffed infront of a good size Hull crowd, so no winning pay to find but a good pay day as we get 50% of the gate money, after costs.
