| Its amazinghow people on here completly ignore folk on here who mention the youth of this club .Victor meldrew mae a good point about danny cowling couldnt have made a better debut than the one against saints ,but as been copletly ignored since. i agree about the 19s nobody apart the two mentioned decerve a second glance . watched a lot of age group rugby in my time up to the present coached it aswell and watching the 16s some look quality but watching the international a lot of it was poor ithink theresa lot of folk including coaches going overboard about players what ive seen over the years some have made it some aint beleive me nowt special

To call him a dinosaur is a bit previous but he's probably lost his edge. He can still turn any club around IMO but move them to the top then I doubt it. He never had the cash that Agar has despite what you seem to believe but I'm not sure he'd do any better with it.
In true fickle fan style they all wanted rid 2 years ago, now enough time has elapsed he represents a long lost golden age to the exact same people - and that's from someone who didn't want JK to go.
Welcome to wacky wakey
Agree with that especially the highlighted part, some people do look back with rose tinted glasses a bit where JK is concerned and like you say some of those are the ones who wanted rid.
Like I said though, I reckon he would be a good guy to come in and do a job for Cas for the next season and a half say..

| I've heard rumours from this side of the common that Cas could go into administration within a fortnight. No evidence coming from their end though.

You are right Shifty but, a lot of water has passed under the bridge since Kear was at Wakey and although the end of his reign was a slightly messy affair, we know many things now, which were not in the public domain at the time.
Many fans would have liked to see what JK could have done with Agars budget but, this is all in the past.
The thing with Cas, is that they are in the mire and first of all, they need someone with experience, that they can afford, who can steady the ship and make some progress and i'm with you here, he looks like a perfect fit.

Is that why Cas are willing to listen to offers for Chase?

Not what i'm hearing, there will be a fire sale of players to prevent it. Chase is going to the NRL to save his wages and Clark to Warrington for a quarter of a million. Couple of others will probably follow also, but not until a new coach is appointed. That will likely be John Kear. Jack Fulton will step down as chairman to become club president and his debt restructured to allow a new board to take over. There will be some cash injected but that will just be to renovate the stadium and improve the corperate hospitality there and ground safety improvements.

St George is the rumour I've heard again and Daryl Clark to Warrington.

| If I was on the board at Cas, I would be making a beeline for Kear. No doubt at all he has the short term man motivational skills they need right here, right now to firstly get a couple of results on the board and get some bums on seats. All the ingredients would be right for him to take over the team at a pretty low ebb and find a way of forging them into a team far, far greater than the sum of it's parts like he has a proven record of doing - and with him being a Cas lad too is the cherry on the cake for them.
Long term, Kear isn't the answer for anybody in Superleage nowadays - but no doubt at all him coming in now would be a great move for Cas.
I think Kear's time was up (well and truly) by the time we parted company with him, but at the beginning he was amazing for us and there are definite similarities between us in 2006 and and Cas now meaning for me he is the only choice to do the job.

I've just heard almost exactly the same - I don't know if that means there's anything in it, but it does sound like a credible plan.
I do hope it works out for them - inter-club rivalry aside, it's not nice for the supporters of any colours to endure the slow death of their club.

Plus the rugby would be painful to watch and over a season we wud not be any better off in terms of league points and probably much worse off with points difference.
Not sure what the attraction to Kear is for wakey fans his tenure had definitely run its course'"
This for me
