| I've not seen much of Smith this season but last season he was superb for the sharks
His halfs partner at the time was Trent Barret, TB could make any halfs partner look good IMO
If we sign smith along with a better half then he'll be a good signing for us

| Just had a look at potentially available players and have to say there is not a huge choice out there..
Washbrook, Dowes, Lee smith, ade Gardner, Scott Moore, Andy lynch are the
Most appealing.
If we are after a marquee signing it looks like it will come from aus.

Always thought Washbrook was a handy player. Would have Dowes and Smith here too, but not Ade G. As for Moore and Lynch they are good but i think will be going elsewhere. Tim Smith is a skilled player too imo but i would not go breaking the bank for him. If Widnes are willing to do this then let them do it. We will find someone else at 7.

Lynch is off to Hull. Smith linked with Hull KR and Moore with Salford. Think Dowes is a shoe-in for us though.

| Absolutely laughable, Tim Smith is an improvement on anything we have here at the moment and we should be trying to get him on board. As people have said, there aren't many players on the market so beggars can't really be choosers.

| Tim smith was terrible on his last visit and did not perform in a wigan side full of stars and played in the reserves for the latter weeks / months. Apparently he went back and played well last season, and this year apparently poor and taken time out for more personal problems i heard......we need a half but not him

| What ever happened to the Scott porter rumour?
As for smith, he would be an improvement and at only 25 too.
There aren't many sh available. I would be happy with smith and if we are truly in the race to sign him then let's get him in.
Washbrook was good but appears to have gone off boil. Worth a punt at the right price.
To be fair the new coach has some hunting to do if quality is on the agenda.

| how is it laughable kingsway ? quinny sums him up i can only comment upon what i saw of him for Wigan...just because he is an Aussie and playing in the NRL we have to sign him up because he is better than we have got. Well he has not alot to beat apart from a Championship player who is still finding his feet at SL level we have nobody else. Should we settle for second best given the alleged dawning of a new era ?
I just think it would be wasted money and he will not come cheap...if he accepts the terraced house in Newton Hill and the red Sierra or Mondeo that Casey used to ride round in then i might change my mind

I don't buy this crap that we should sign people because they sound like Rolf Harris. But it is laughable because compared to Jeremy Smith and Gareth Moore he is an improvement. People seem to think we are going to attract current test stars and that simply is not the case. Short term improvements to the squad is what is needed initially. Then we can build from there, it will be tough to attract quality to players to Wakefield Trinity whilst we have a reputation for being one of the whipping boys of superleague. I would say even Widnes are a more attractive proposition for players looking for employment.

Christ alive, this was because the lad had a mental illness and should never of been considered for selection at that time.
Same could be said for Jamie Lyon when playing for Parramatta, only a promising player at the time but gave it up because his head was not in the right place and so he decided to bring up pigs instead. He got his head straight again and tore up trees.

| I agree we are not the best prospect at the moment...but money talks especially to Aussies...all this about Hull FC able to attract big signings i believe is mainly down to money...yes they have a nice stadium and i am sure they will have good training facilities and a large fanbase but they will also pay the money wanted by alot of ageing Aussies here to pick up their retirement money. This is not supposed to be having at go at Hull FC more aimed at the remit our new coach has that he has to have the ability to attract quality signings...Agar could because he had the financial clout. As for Widnes they are backed by a multi millionaire and i believe that he will be paying the dollar as well. I just dont want to see what would be a large investment on what i have seen a very average player (Tim Smith)
