I TOTALLY AGREE. What short memories some folk have. I say, thanks for all you have done for us John; we wouldn't be here without you. I hope you get the chance with us to show what you really can do given some proper money to spend but if you move on, good luck mate and cheers..and ignore the thickets slamming you on here

| I'm thankful for everying Kear has done, he's punched above his weight with the team, he's steered us away from relegation and got us into the play-offs. He's been a leader and a remarkable man to steer us through one disaster to another, but, with regret for the benefit of both parties it's time to move on.
Thankyou and good luck
(In my opinion)

Kear needs Beans, for making the coffee

| I fail to see the difference with John Kear looking at the Cas job as a security net and the likes of Morrison, Murphy, George et all looking at other clubs as a safety net. They are just taking care of their futures if their current situation becomes untenable. Yet one is treatyed as a pariah for doing so and the others receive understanding and support - weird.
John Kear has worked his b@@locks off on a limited/no budget and worked mircales to first of all keep us up and then keep us in Super League.
His tactics have gone the way of the teams available to him, he has covered for the loss of key players and always managed to find us other gems to replace the leavers. Even this season by finding and nurturing the likes of Mariano, Johnson and Amor.
He deserves a crack at superleague with Wakefield and a supportive chairman who makes money available for quality signings.
If he makes a mess of it then - he's fair game - otherwise I don't think we'll find better than John Kear anywhere soon.

I don't know - but if he did, who could blame him - his contract was up at the end of the year and (along with everyone else including you ) he expected us not to get a franchise and not be within a Championship budget for a coach. He wasn't the only one who may have given up and looked at alternatives, hell most of our fans had!

| I defended not letting Kear go before the license decision as it made sense not to rock the boat at that time, and from a PR perspective would've been suicide. Yes, people may point to the players he has had to work with this season and claim they are not a true reflection of his ability, but for me, we have to move on. Kear will always be remembered for saving our bacon, and the climax to that season, even this, optimises the man and his style of play. Backs to the wall. But if we are to move forward, and now is the time to do so, the end of this season should signal the end of John Kear as coach of Wakefield Trinity.
It's time to show our intent. We need to move on.

For Penrith to offer him their caretaker job he has demonstrated he is good enough. He still wants a job in the Super League and did apply for the Salford job. He is relatively young, and having played for the club, knows what we are about. To offer Kear another contract on the back of yesterdays news would for me show a lack of ambition. We need to move on, we need new ideas, for me, we need a Steve Georgallis, or someone versed in the modern game.
