| They had less than a week to promote the ground offer. Also they have only had just over a week overall in-situ so a pretty good effort all round. The club can now look ahead to the next fixtures and plan accordingly.

| It's not todays attendance. I think the club did as well as could be expected in the time given.
It is just that every time we try to promote the club the performance does not live up to expectations.
OK, I know there are good reasons but how many of the new faces will be there against the Bulls?

| to be honest i think the warrington attandance will tell us more, and also to be fair discount offers like this will mean fairly deep pockets for mr glover, went today with a pile of optimism, but then again I do every week, but the ground in the last ten minutes told its own story, I bet there were no more than 1000 trinity fans in at the end, both sides of the ground were almost empty.
I suppose the point is people dragged a lot of others to the game today to get wet, downhearted and in some cases bored, we are an entertainment business and today was not entertaining, I go because Im a supporter and a fan of the club, those less devoted could no doubt think even a tenner is too much.
see you all at bradford i suppose.....

What a difference a roof makes. It applies to the complaints about a lack of atmosphere on another thread too. Although I admit to not being fully sober when we beat Saints at Oakwell.

| Given the trials and tribulations of the past few weeks and the club ripped apart last season to be replaced by a young squad I thought the gate today was excellent, yes it could have been more but given the short turnaround.
Anyway lets see what happens when Wire come to Town its on Sky and I think we only got about 5K last season, if we increase by 40% each game that will put us in a great position crowd wise for a franchise.

I agree, against Salford, in such bad weather, after only a week of marketing the game, I don't think it was bad at all. Like you said, if we can increase our attendances each home game, compared to last year by a decent amount, it will be a good effort by all. I think the owner and his staff will learn from this game as far as marketing etc and will keep on improving game to game, lets hope we get some decent weather to help.

A tad harsh I think, but anyway tell me how many more you think you will bring to the Willows than we took today ? to a ground that has no cover on a winters day whilst it's p issing it down ?

| Peed it down all morning and well into the afternoon. Don't think the crowd was too bad considering that. Maybe the pay on the gate backfired a bit as the weather would have changed a few peoples mind.

| I agree - weather can put people off on the day, so we need to presell all our matches. At least the money is in the coffers, and people are more likely to attend if they have already paid.

| It's bad enough that the weather took a hold, the pitch was bad too, but the place was so gloomy and depressing and that's partly the fact that 24 bulbs in the floodlights, that's 25% of the total illumination, were out of action. Surely the players deserve better if not the fans. We really need to make the best of Belle Vue while we have it and not put people off visiting any more than we have to. And why was the tea bar closed?
