| FWIW Guisley have to improve their ground ie more turnstiles, dressing and kit rooms and extra seating by 31.03.11 just to stay in their league (Blue Square North) or they will be relegated. They are going great guns this season and could get promoted and if that is the case they will have to imprive their ground again for Conference. Cant see them coming all way from Guisley to ground share with us.

The Conference is a very tough place to escape from. Have to feel for the poor supporters who'll have their team taken away from them should they be moved to Newmarket if any of this is true,'"
Good point. I suppose any Guiseley fan may well be very hacked off with a potential move to Wakefield. Perhaps he's going to move us to Guiseley. I had a look on the Guiseley forum a little earlier and there wasn't even a sniff of anything to do with Parkin or Wakefield Trinity.
Having said that,a wendyball team with the name Wakefield will probably attract more attention than Guiseley.

Possibly - small town near Leeds or small city near Leeds!

The people who bought hilton park [in leigh] also brought horwich RMI to the town and renamed them leigh RMI and they made it to the conference iirc.

I thought Leigh Genesis (awful name) had issues with levels of rent they had to pay at LSV?

Would be nice! It's cheap entertainment down at College Grove when work allows me to pop down.

Is he, cash or assets?
So in these days of recession and the abominable state of the club how much of it do you reckon he's going to chuck down our particular drain?
As I said in a 100 words or more how do you know this and why would he do it. Not being confrontational but you don't get 170 million pounds by being a fool. I'm finding it hard to imagine what's in it for this particular Dragon

Genesis dont play there now.they never stood a chance at the lsv, they would have needed 1500 gates to play ther.they now play at atherton the same ground as laburnum rovers i think.

| Quote: supercat "Found out tonight Steve Parkin is to be our new owner and the deal to go through as quick as possible. He is the owner of Guisley football club and is worth about 170 million. Steve Ferris is more than likely to be the new Chairman of WTWC. Source tells me they are about 90% certain of this but are not sure if the intentions are to go into administration or just pay the debt off. I am also told that Guisley are not for off Blue square premier status and need a sufficient ground to satisfy this and are that certain that this will happen that are willing to invest in Wakefield to ground share.
This may please some and not please others but looks good for me.'"
It looks good to me and there must be some substance to this rumour as it's been doing the rounds for a few weeks now. If this happens then the future of Wakefield Trinity and pro sport in Wakefield will have a very bright future. Newmarket is the key to our future and having it in use all year round will make it more viable. WTRLFC being run by professional forward thinking wealthy backers is a very exciting prospect and I hope that this rumour is true

It seems to me that consolidating all of his businesses at NM would be a very shrewd move, not to mention getting a £15 million stadium for his wendyball team free of charge as part of the deal.
I'd also suggest that the level of debt that our club has is peanuts to this type of operator; he may well see the prospect of clearing those debts then running a SL club at break-even as an acceptable cost of achieving all the additional benefits that acquiring us would bring.
I don't disagree with you that after looking at the club he could easily say "it's not for me - I'm out", but I do think that there's some logic and plausibility in his alleged interest. I, for one, am rather childishly crossing everything and hoping aginst hope that this particular rumour comes good.

Peanuts maybe but thats why hes rich, shrewd. Without being de meaning to RL, he will know football is where the money is. If he wants to finance a team like Trin while benefitting from NM etc then im for it.If he pumps money into his football and in doing so, RL, it has to benefit the wildcats.

| running a succesful SuperLeague team is peanuts compared to running a football league team... they could run Trinity as a tax deductable item....
dont know who this guy is... and maybe we are just searching in vain for a 'Knight in Shining Armour'... but hell we need some type of miracle... why not this one??
