Great effort, great performance. Feared the team would run out of steam in the later stages of the match given the hard work they put in the first three quarters. Leeds performance was very much like last years, very petulant and ill disciplined. Webb was lucky not to be sent off given what happened to Brough the last time Childs was the man in the middle at BV.
First time I’ve seen Trinity beat Leeds and to be honest I thought it would never happen. Even after Millards try I had a feeling of inevitability that Leeds would undeservedly snatch it late on, and feared the worst when Donald squeezed in those two late tries. I’ve never seen Leeds bomb so many try scoring opportunities. They certainly started playing a hell of a lot better once Sinfield got binned. Overall all though I felt Trinity dictated the match and were fully worth the two points.
The most pleasing aspect was that a near full house saw the team win. More often then not Trinity flatter to deceive in such circumstances, resulting in many of the casual support to not coming back.
