Agree totally.
Somebody pointed out that neither are in the class of a Sculthorpe or Farrell and thats 100% correct but then them 2 were truely awesome players.
I still stand by what i said that either O'Loughlin or Sinfield would be Wakefields best signing in decades. Somebody mentioned Solomona and he was awesome for a couple of years for Wakefield but these guys would do it over a greater period of time and are true professionals.
Wheather people agree or disagree with that doesn't matter at the end of the day. The point stands that any Wakefield fan putting either in a side made up of players they'd not want to see ever pull on a Wakefield shirt is ridiculous.

It’s not based on ability though, it’s a light hearted hypothetical thread based on the reasons the OP outlined.
I’m sure some Wiganers wouldn’t like KC in their line up based on a dislike for him as opposed to his actual playing abilities.

Alas the arrogance and stupidity of a fan of a "big" club kicks in. This bizare assumption that any of there players would immediately walk into a "lesser" club and become top dog is pathetic. Doesn't work like that, RL's history is littered with big name players who have left the safety of a big club surrounded by great players only to crash and burn when left to fend for themselves.
I won't assume this would happen to O'Louglin or Sinfield but unlike you I'm not stupid enough to assume it couldn't.
'"
O'Loughlins been surrounded by great players at Wigan over the past few years has he?
I must have missed the games they've played in then.
We're an average side with average players but O'Loughlin isn't one of them. He's not world class and no Farrell or Sculthorpe but he's a very good superleague player and along with Sinfield is one of the best 2 loose forwards in superleague. If Sinfield left his world class chums at Leeds theres a possibility he could crash and burn as you say but if O'Loughlin left Wigan for Wakefield he wouldn't be trading too much in terms of the quality of player alongside him.
He'd be your best player like he is ours.

If people have him in their sides on the basis they don't like him then thats fair enough(although he doesn't seem an irritating player) but i've read comments questioning his ability which is daft.
As for KC i'd have killed to see him in a Wigan shirt(probably not now though) because he was a world class player and i'm grown up enough to put petty rivalries to one side. I'd have also likes to have seen Sculthorpe, Newlove, Martyn, Joynt etc pull on the Wigan shirt at their peaks and would be made up to see the likes of Graham, Eastmond, Roby etc make the move now.
Shame it won't happen.

I like Brough and it's hard to compare a scrum half to a loose forward but yeah i'd rather have O'Loughlin. His contribution to a side is huge both in attack and defence aswell as the leadership he brings.

| Good job you've got him then and we have O'Loughlin.
I'd have both given the choice.

Indeed and a wondering mind full of distractions, injury record is the obvious issue with Morrison as well as age.

| It's clear to see what O'Loughlin brings to Wigan, however, that does not mean he'd have the same impact at Wakefield or Leeds etc.
At Wakefield we have some very good youngsters, and in Dale Ferguson i hope we have a player who will go on to be better than O'Loughlin and for that reason i'd rather we not sign him.
O'Loughlin would require a huge wedge of our salary cap and simply wouldn't justify it. What money we have should be utilised on creative players i.e. Our 6,7 & 9 and with time our youngsters will come through.

What a load of old guff, and again so typically arrogant - how can you know he would suceed at Wakey. Worse still how could you presume to know he would out do the players I mentioned.
For my money he wouldn't offer us anywhere near as much as Brough, Obst or JD in the current squad. I also feel Tronc and Millard may well eclipse him though that is pure speculation.
He would probably get in our 17, but would not be an overly crucial player and above all would not be the best player we had signed in the last ten years. That idea is so laughable that I can only assume that you are his dad or insane to spout such tripe.
