Quote: Khlav Kalash "With how quickly planning applications are going through the system at the moment, would be pushing it to get anything up and running before then.

2026 more likely, that is if anything is earmarked. West Stand really is an eyesore, and whilst it's not hindering us in an IMG sense, we need to do something about it re spectator comfort, attracting new supporters, increasing our fandom scores.'"

It is an eyesore, yes, and whilst there are some finishing touches that are probably required on the North stand, that side for now, is workable.

Personally, I would focus on the west first, and probably doesnt need to be anything spectacular. Perhaps elevate that side a little, with new terracing, and a basic stand that goes the full length would improve that side a lot.

While we want more of our home fans to turn up, away support does count, as IMG look at the whole crowd. We also get the financial benefit too of gate receipts. Id rather see, say 1000 away fans turn up, then say 700, and those 300 that havent, havent done so due to our poor away facilities

New terracing wouldn't need planning permission and I'm not sure that planning would be required for an extension to the cover that is on the western terrace. This has been covered on here previously I think, something to do with the height of the stand and the precedent created by what has been on it previously. Any planning experts around? icon_smile.gif

It's just not a priority this season in my opinion.
West Stand is a cosmetic thing that would only benefit us when we get Super League level crowds. That isn't happening for at least a year.

If there was extra money I'd tidy up the back of the North and the North East entrance area.

For me, extending the new north terrace back would be a priority, if there were funds available (and if it were possible!), the capacity is currently so limited.

If we fill that in the Championship, with a new 2,500 stand added in I'll be amazed.

West side would look better with just that being skittled. Put the visiting coaches in the flats.

Agreed just dropping those ram shackle portacabins would make a world of difference and cost very little.. However I also think the North Stand is far from perfect and a real bodge job. The initial plan was to put a retail area at the back and also to enclose it. Again that would be a huge improvement and also provide a financial benefit on match days.

From what I hear the new owners are well aware of all the short commings , so hopefully within not too much time we see further improvements.

Our focus and energy must be getting back into super league at the earliest opportunity , yes the western terrace isn’t the best ,but it’s never going to be anywhere near full whilst we are in the championship , likewise the rear of the North stand , but more than adequate for the time being especially with the East stand coming on stream .For me No 1 is getting back into super league ,No 2 is getting our social media platforms /web site up out of the dark ages . The ground is more than adequate for the next season or so as it stands ,in fact it’s the best I’ve seen it . Long term there is still plenty to work on ground wise ,but pretty pointless if we’re languishing in the lower tables with poor crowds .

Remember 'getting back into Super League isn't just about winning the GF. That's just part of it.
The media and fan base and finances will be a bigger part of that that the league position.
But winning GF would help a lot.

Agreed , but the ground at present is more than adequate enough to see us through this sabbatical we find ourselves in ,and imo there are more pressing matters in the short term at least for the club to focus its energies on

For me it’s simple.

You invest in your quick wins that give you points.

I think LED advertising boards were mentioned (0.125 points I think). These would get guaranteed points, add to match day experience and bring in extra revenue for advertisement/sponsors. There would be some level of payback over a term. This is a quick win.

Ultimately the above is worth more than spending 500k face lifting the west stand.

Also, the new stand would hold 2500, the flats about 200 at a guess and the upper lower north maybe 2000?

Some away fans are allocated seating in the new stand, I would have the rest going into half of the north stand (closest to west) and not even open up the west side at all unless for big expected gates or if ticket sales demand.

You have to be smart with these things.

Look through the criteria and pick out some easy quick wins through infrastructure first then look at your other aspects like engagement etc.

Me personally I would sit with the criteria and 20 x coffees and have 3 categories for short/medium/long term and prioritise relevant points into these along with expected costs and payback associated.

Any extra points for quick wins will offset and shortfalls in other areas also.

It’s a big undertaking and project taking on trinity and getting them to superleague but if done smartly Is definitely achievable.

Why can't we have a fans forum via the clubs website instead of here? Wouldn't this mean instead of RL fans getting hits our own media platform would?

I'm sure I log onto this site maybe 30 to 50 times per week.

Just a simple gantry is all you would need, till a new stand could be built to incorporate something more permanent Also let's face it, we won't need cameras that much, if at all next season. In fact thanks to the brilliant IMG we may not get back into SL and will never need a gantry

It didn't last very long last time. Too many morons posting.

It's impossible for the club to fully police an official forum.
