To help you out a little Jools, Wakefield unlike Huddersfield is a city not a town, and by population is the 11th largest out of 66, hope that's useful information for any future skits, you don't wanna make yourself look foolish........Do you?

It is indeed correct to state that Wakefield is a city,but as far as populations go there is a great difference between Wakefield Metropolitan Borough and the city of Wakefield.The Metropolitan Borough includes areas such as Castleford,Pontefract and many more small towns which gives it a population of over 300,000.The city of Wakefield itself had, according to the 2011 census a population of just under 100,000,whereas the population of Huddersfield was just under 163,000.

Is that just the urban area? I live near hudds and Wakefield seems so much bigger

The figures are taken from the 2011 census which gives the populations as Wakefield 99,251 and Huddersfield as 162,949.
There is a website called Love My Town.co.uk which lists all the populations per the 2011 census.Im not computer literate enough to post the url! Also there is no doubt that Wakefield is a city!

A proper cathedral city, not like these faux cities (Leeds anyone) it was also the county town of west riding and the seat of Wakefield diocese
